You will need all the info on the door label as the PCB’s are configured for each model but all look virtually identical. The numbers on the PCB label along with the ones printed on the board seem to be relatively irrelevant in identifying the right one. It can only be done by model and date codes.
Don’t ya just love ’em?? :rolls:More details!!!!!

6 flashes means Water tap off / valve failure. I have found the most likely thing is a malfunction of the flowmeter (turbine) behind the left side panel. It is moulded into the air break so has to be renewed as one piece.
It pays to clean up and tighten the flowmeter connector plug and reed switch board connection first – fixed loads that way. 😉HTH,
Steve.

It’s a Smeg, so E2 is air break blockage – Connect list it at £112 + VAT cost!! 😯
Pressure switch failure / water in the tube / wash motor not starting or rarely, PCB faulty. You seem to have done everything else, so the most likely thing is the air break unit at fault.HTH,
Steve.

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint LFT 114UK dishwasher.
Thanks guys, I was beginning to despair……. 😆
Is it classed as a “air break with turbine”? Connect are showing such an item at £9.20 + VAT – I assume that’s the part required. (5045175340297).
Thanks again,

Plastic plumbing…….I hate plastic plumbing. Lazy plumbers quick push fit cr@p. The stuff that moves around like rope liquorice if you just look at it….
2 flights up in a brand new block of posh flats in Bournemouth. Dishwasher has a simple drain hose blockage. I empty the cupboards and turn off the tap. Start to unscrew the hose and “POP” the whole tap comes off the end of the pipe!!! 😯 😯 . No way to crimp the pipe; no stop cock in sight; customer far to high brow to consider lowering himself to look for the stop cock as it is obviously my fault…… 👿 Thumb over the end of the pipe is acting like a sprinkler now and so the only thing to do was to hope to refit the tap on the end of the pipe and pray it held. Took my thumb off and jammed the tap back on the end of the pipe. Fortunately it went on with a few twists. The plumber had fitted the tap and not fitted the clamp collar to hold the locking teeth in place so it was an accident waiting to happen. I found the collar slid down the pipe. :angry4: All OK now. I looked around me expecting disaster, but being in the way of the spraying mains pressure, I took the soaking and contained the leak. Only a hand towel full of water to clean up.
I made an excuse to go to the van where I sat for ten minutes as the panic had caused my chest to tighten to such an extent I actually thought I was having a heart attack!! Never experienced anything like that before!!
Needless to say, the pompous little tw@t is no longer a customer…. 😈Steve.

ParticipantRe: Qualtex discount scheme for WTA.
Result!! 😀 Well done!!
That makes it worthwhile!! I was sure you would like what was being offered and I understood the scepticism at first; but this is the type of support we need in these difficult times. 15{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} discount is wonderful as the Q’tex SW manager reckoned Phil wouldn’t go more than 5 – 6{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} on fast moving items. I pushed for twice that at the beginning and the response was still positive. And when I finally got past Mark Etherington and spoke directly to Phil, he was very keen on the ideas we had and kept offering more. Brilliant – that’s going to get a lot of people’s attention.
Was there anything said about the offer to use the Qualtex legal department services? Also the possibility of a network of WTA approved repairers with Qualtex backing us? That’s still on the cards and could be useful if the current crisis in the DSG camp continues. I noted in the DSG / RC threads that NESN were getting some Currys work, and that NESN are using Qualtex as their spares supplier. All in the future but nonetheless very interesting…… 😉Thanks for the feedback – I was wondering how it turned out on Friday.
Cheers,
Steve.

ParticipantRe: AW23 soap hose
When I’ve got 5 minutes I’ll post the photo sequence with the demo machine. I’m flat out here……. 8)
With the transit straps removed the top spring at rest measures 40mm from end to end (the wound centre piece; not loop to loop). Unhook the spring from the back of the machine, feed the loop over a screwdriver and with both hands pull upwards to stretch.
I have tested this in several positions and 55mm is the best length for the tub to be clear of the offending joint. This neither distorts the door gasket or causes balance issues. Maybe take a ready stretched spring and swap it as you remove the transit bolts? Keep the displaced one for another day. 😉The reason for this is unfortunately the original design. The rear suspension rod on the right of the machine (the side with 2 units) is fitted to the tub at a different height than its front counterpart, although the rods are the same length. When the transit bolts are removed, the spring pulls the drum backwards. The suspension, being in effect, shorter at the back causes the whole drum to lean backwards, pulling the suspension out of upright. The larger left side unit doesn’t however move back at the same rate as it is mounted centrally, so it acts as a pivot point. This can cause twisting and the tub to rise up on the soap drawer side with the inevitable result. By releasing the tension on the spring, the tub can move forward slightly in the body frame, altering the position of the tub joint which is now moved to distance of at least 13mm clearance from any point of contact with the hose. Full, half full, empty, it makes no difference.
As the suspension units are forced to lean back due to the tub’s natural centre of gravity, the rubber sockets at the top and bottom of the suspension units are distorted in their otherwise upright location holes. This means the suspension not only moves up and down but back and forth in an arc, giving the rise and fall that results in soap hose damage. Not well thought out, that one. Anyone who has removed a suspension unit will observe that there is a compression line at an angle on the side of the rubber bush where it has been twisted in its mounting hole. The rear spring encourages this; centrifugal force on spin will accentuate the rearward lean. Ideally, the suspension rod at the rear needs to be lenghtened to eradicate the fault. If you want the tub to incline, you mould the tub so that the drum is inclined within an otherwise upright tub unit. That would be the ultimate fix.
I have built a demo machine with cutaway sections (like the Haynes manuals) but it is a fully working AW23. When you see that working on spin in original unmodified condition, then it beggars belief that this was not noticed or the suspension deflection range plotted at the design stage. Hey ho…….:rolls:
The machine is available if you want it Ken, with 40 and 55mm springs for proving. Shame we have to do this though. I have had 5 hose failures to date with 1 flooded laundry room, 1 taking out the suspension unit below and one flooding the motor and frazzing the PCB. Embarrassing!
Hope this is of use to everyone and when I figure out how to blog this with pictures, then I’ll post it for your delectation.

ParticipantRe: zanussi z1959t bearing kit.
It’ll be the large Zanussi bearing kit as used on the Z929T. Fitted in the 3 legged cast iron spider on the back of the metal enamelled tub. Easy job as long as the shaft is unmarked on the brass collar. Fantastic machine; part of the Washcraft series…. probably the best machines Zanussi ever made.
Part number:- Genuine part:- DST344703012; Qualtex:- BKT27, Connect BRG942260.HTH,
