    Re: Neff Integrated Condenser dryer

The float switch is indicating that the chamber is full – a condition that should only happen when the top resevoir is full and the lower chamber is full as well. When you manually emptied it you merely made more space for the water, therefore it just refilled.
Problem is caused by the condenser not being cleaned properly or frequently enough. Fluff makes its way through to the back of the condenser and blocks the float chamber; inhibiting the pump from drawing water up to the reciever. Strip and clean out is the only answer. The pump may be blocked or possibly failed; but a blockage is the most likely cause.

Re: Water not getting to upper spray arm in Tecnik TKD795/3

The heater manifold has a diverter valve driven by a small motor and gearbox. This alternates supply to the rotors to use less water and cut heating costs. If the diverter valve sticks or its motor fails, then the top or bottom rotor may be affected. Or it could be a water metering issue – caused by blockages in the fill system on the left side of the machine.

The diverter valve is not available separately and forms an integral part of the heater unit. Heater unit priced around £97.

    Power off before investigating. :plug:

Re: Whirlpool washer problem – timer fault?

Look at the motor brushes – they are probably worn out. The timer would not necessarily be at fault; but do not try to push the timer round by hand, it will damage the internal drive gears and cams. It also proves nothing, as you have found. 😉

Re: Replacing jockey wheel on Creda T632CW condensing tumble

You have to twist them slightly to remove them from their locating slots – easy job. They WILL pass the motor spindle – I’ve changed hundreds so it IS possible.
If you can’t do this, then with all due respect, you haven’t got a hope of doing the drum drive belt. When you remove the drum, if not done correctly and methodically, the machine will seem to “fall apart” before your very eyes.

Safety is paramount on UKW and we can help you up to a point. Even as seasoned pro’s WE have limits to our abilities. The trick is to know your personal limit and then seek help. There is no short cut to experience and it will work out cheaper in the long run to get an engineer to do it for you. If you buy unnecessary parts or break something (or yourself!!) on this machine, it could end up costing you a lot more. 😉

    Hope that helps,

Zanussi FJ series with the Sole motors from the mid – nineties did this regularly. It didn’t have any affect on the working or reliability of the motor. We used to megger them to be sure they were safe; I don’t recall one that failed sooner due to the plastic being removed.

This timer (AKO VS80) will give no spin faults. You will need the 513*** number from the side of the timer as there are several versions. EMW do these at £49.90 + VAT. New price is £56 + VAT from Connect.

    Hope that helps,

Nothing recieved here Ade – I’ve checked, refreshed inbox and checked again. 😕 Don’t know why…….apart from our losing connection with our ISP and them being slow and generally useless at fixing it until Thursday PM. Could be the reason……

If the new soap dispenser hose I have just fitted gets damaged again I will suggest replacing all three suspension legs as well as the hose.

It has to be said the tub is rather close to the soap drawer. I fitted a new soap hose today and protected it with a piece of clear plastic held under one loop of the clip. The tub rim will hit the plastic before it wears the hose.

    Here’s hoping…..

    Steve.

Well just had another soap hose holed…… 😯 I sorta knew what the problem would be so I took the replacement soap hose off the donor machine and looked for contact damage. To my surprise – none. This machine had been a swap over for the high pressure / soap drawer leak problem so it had been used before. It was an early version with ISE2 AW23 on the drawer. The tub is noticably lower in relation to the soap drawer and the hose was unmarked. I took the lid and transit bolts off a new machine and the tub is very close to the soap drawer – both the machines that have had this problem were sold in the last 3 months. I have quite a lot of AW23’s out there so I am getting worried. The water leaks into the base over the suspension unit – the one I have just been to had filled the base tray and produced a large puddle on the floor. This machine was only supplied on the 12th May.
I know it’s a “small problem” but it needs to be remedied. After extolling the virtues of ISE and making the sale, it doesn’t make the agent look good…….. 😳

    Re: Condenser Tumble Dryer Decision.

It’s an easy fix – the door release relay has failed. They are about £20-25 + fitting. Much, much cheaper than a new drier. The drier will run for 5 minutes then stop. Leave it for a few minutes for the relay to cool down and try again. A quick test is to hold the start button in when it stops. The drier will run as long as you hold in the start switch. This is not the repair solution and wedging the start switch is not recommended. New relay ASAP.
It dismays me to see how some members of the public ( as in 2 replies on MSE) say, “Bin it…..it’s a throw away world” and “A new drier is more efficient” shows just how uninformed some people are who give “advice”. Advice should be given by persons with the necessary knowledge to do so. To scrap machines without researching if they can be saved is not only disasterous for the environment, but foolish and wasteful. Your Crusader is a Creda / Hotpoint in a dress and back then built in Britain to a reasonable standard. They haven’t got any better I can assure you…..
Most driers in the £250 – £300 bracket will be scrapped after 3-4 years so any energy efficiency savings and environmental considerations will pale into insignificance when the chap at the scrapyard starts up the crusher….. 😉
I have a Hotpoint drier in my workshop as we speak that is 14 months old with a drum that has collapsed through the plastic bearings and worn the back bearing shaft until it sheared off. This is mid range quality stuff. Imagine what the cheap ones are like……..

You say you cannot afford a Miele or ISE so Bosch is the next mark down. Anything else is…..well….let’s just say you’ll be posting on here regularly. :rolls:

It’s almost mid July! We blink, and September will be a week away! Not much going on in the public forums regarding the meeting, I might be tooooooo keen, but would LOVE this one to be a MASSIVE deal, so kinda think some ‘Hype’ in the public forum needed?!

    Ade 🙂

The link needs to include the “suits” attending as that shows that they take the meeting seriously and support what we are trying to achieve. Even a church fete poster has the “Opened by…..as seen on TV” on it in huge letters. The average engineer response would probably be, “What’s on offer for me, how will it benefit me?” Show ’em.
IMO….post the “suits attending” list; then the WTA and UKW agendas for the day, the news on the ISE project, the venue details with links and by no means least, Ken’s spot. Then post a ‘sticky’ in bold lettering at the top of every trade forum.
That’s all we can do. Bait the hook before fishing….

To start, who else, apart from Isdal and Qualtex, is definately coming?

    Steve.
