    Re: Bosch SGS43A32UK/01 Dishwasher

Remove the filter and look carefully at the sump. On the edge at about 5 o’clock is a cap. Lift it and underneath in a vertical slide is a magnetic float. This operates a reed switch on the underside of the machine. Use a small screwdriver to slide it up and out. NOTE WHICH WAY IT COMES OUT!! It will only work the correct way up!! 😉

    Probable causes:-

    1) Float has taken on water. It has a clear section so you can see. New float kit required.
    2) The float is sticking in its slide. Clean with a toothbrush and refit.
    3) Whole set up is goosed. Buy new float kit (188106) and reed switch (188105) – both are quite cheap.

Hotpoint used to do Braille fascias as an aftermarket retrofit…….that was when they were the real Hotpoint. I don’t know if Indesit have carried that service forward. Mind you, if their fascia printing is anything to go by, the Braille will be sprayed on and will probably rub off with a sweaty finger.
And how would they show a fault code in Braille?

    Something to ponder……. 😉

3 weeks delay from Gias……anyone got a 1.5m long 8 way ribbon cable they could spare? 😕

If you suspect the PCB, then get your customer to call Electrolux direct. Electrolux do discounted repairs for failed PCB’s on the latest machines.
Probably the best way to go……. 🙁

Pressure switch related fault code (E30 family). Pressure chamber blockage; filter unit blockage; pressure pipe holed; pressure switch faults (analogic and anti – boil) or PCB.
Use the diagnostics (method is in the “Known Error Codes” thread:) operate diagnostics and the exact fault code will be revealed.

    Hope that helps,

Check both the ribbon cables around the motor area – they are loosely tied back and the motor mount chafes them through, ie:- no control from the fascia PCB.
Best of luck getting replacements though – Candy don’t know what cables they fit to their machines. (see my thread in Trade Spares). If they are chafed, be sure to count the individual cables as this seems to be the only way Candy can identify them. :rolls:

    Re: candy go482

You are doing it right, Suede, the outlet hose always has to go upwards from the drain spigot to avoid syphoning – common knowledge.
I had a similar experience about 8 years ago with a Hotpoint “engineer” (loose term) that told my customer that their new machine had flooded their kitchen diner due to me kinking the cold inlet hose on installation.
He didn’t realise that I had called back to see the damage as soon as my customer had rang me – fearing the worst. I stood at the door while he slagged off the “cowboy independent engineers”……and he was still in full rant when I calmly asked him in front of my customer why he had the back inspection panel off and was refitting the sump hose to the machine (WMA type) when it was just an inlet hose.
Lightning quick refit and exit………no test carried out at all. I insisted that I changed the “faulty” inlet hose and tested the machine before I left. The hose was unmarked………the customer was not pleased. But it actually did me a favour – one loyal customer for me!!
Don’t let this get you down, that engineer will eventually catch himself out. Blaming others is futile; just sort out the problem in hand.
“Behold, your sins will find you out!” – such a true line from the Good book……

    There is an E34 code Chris….I quote verbatum…… 😉

E34 – Incongruency between level of electronic pressure switch and level of anti – boiling pressure switch 2 (duration of fault at least 60 seconds).
    Cycle blocked; door closed.
Possible causes:- Hydraulic circuit of pressure switches; electronic pressure switch, pressure switch; wiring; main PCB.

    Above quote from TDS.

    Re: whats heavier?

I’ve had this at some posh flats on Bournemouth seafront; metal fire escapes; service lift that doesn’t go down to the basement and the last remaining members of the Gestapo posing as porters in the foyer.
I find that if you trolley the machine to the foot of the stairs and then proceed to instruct the porter where to hold the machine to safely lift the machine up the stairs with you. Before they can answer, mention that you are mindful of the health and safety risk that this job entails and that the likelyhood of you or the machine being damaged was very high.
If that fails, then contact the customer in front of the porter on your mobile and say that you can’t deliver the machine as arranged because you are unable to use the lift. Customer will nearly always side with you.
They always huff and puff as it is their pride you are hurting rather than the lift, and in all cases for me they have always backed down.

    Steve.
