    Re: Hotpoint TCFS835 stops.

    Well well……….
Left it off then plugged it back in at lunchtime – still nothing. Wife has already booked Hotpoint to come (10th January!). Then checked around 2pm and it’s back up and running. Weird……… :rolls:
I’m sure it’s module related but any other info would be appreciated as it seems strange that both driers would give the same faults. Seems as if they are set up to limit your usage? That last statement was ridiculous…….. or is it?

Look at the Bush washer fault codes in “known fault codes” as these machines are Vestel as well. Fault 6 looks like being motor related.

    Re: ADP460

Had a Ignis oven at a cookery school with the same type of fault. The thermostat reading (220 on the knob) was around 60+ degrees different so when it got to 220 the oven would shut off. It started out within 10 degrees of target (knob set to 100 degrees) and ramped up dramatically until at around 220 it cut out. The fact that the stat cycles on and off is no indication of its accuracy. If the cabinet cooling fan is running continuously and the safety stat has gone O/C then that smacks of overheating.

    Re: ADP460

Have you checked the temperature with a thermometer? If the knob says 200 degrees the cavity temperature may be way different causing the overheat stat to trip out. I would look at that first. Could be a faulty thermostat.

Try AWS as they are main suppliers for Hygena stuff – they may have a wiring diagram. http://www.awsappliancespares.co.uk.

    Yes it’s a Smeg in drag……. so anything is possible…. 😕

Usually the thermistor or fan motor jamming or faulty when hot, fan blades full of fluff or earth leak on drier heater. Not much else really.

    Re: HOTPOINT VTD60

Tony – yes we do know how the thermistor works…… the resistance value drops as the drier gets hotter. But you have to take seriously what Jim is saying – register it as faulty as the machine is subject to a safety recall that mustn’t be ignored. These machines can and do catch fire! If the drier is showing an overheat fault and in the light of what has been said, that should be enough for you to quit while you’re ahead. Hotpoint will offer you a modification for free or a brand new drier in a box delivered for £59.
Why would you bother to try and fix it? Your house insurance and moreover your family won’t thank you if God forbid the worst happens. Especially if you are the last person to repair it………

    Re: Cannon Cooling Fan

There is a cut in thermal limiter in line to the fan motor. They are usually found on the top of the appliance on or to one side of the vent that goes from fan to the outside (front of machine above the door handle). Notice that it is a CUT IN ‘stat; therefore it will test as open circuit at room temperature and will make on rise. It is a small black round item with two upwards facing tags and is fixed by two screws on the rim of the ‘stat.
Remove hob and ye shall find…… it will be there as it is a listed part. 😉

Gumtree or Ebay for an old one; even not working…. should be easy to find for under £20. Swap bits, dump the leftovers.

Is the little glass fuse blown on the board? If it has there will be an external reason to suspect other parts. You might have to dig the resin out around it to test it though.

    Re: Bosch dishwasher E24

When you start a cycle, these dishwashers will drain first, then you will hear the heatpump run up momentarily. Then you will hear a burst of water then stop. After about 20 seconds it will fill and progress through the wash.
    From the start:-
The drain pump ramps up to speed and is monitored by module. Then the heatpump ramps up the same. The burst of water is to test the flow rate through the flowmeter. If all OK it will wash as normal.
E24 is normally blockage / kinked outlet hose / drain pump slow (or failing) then heatpump slow (or failing) in that general order. Most of the E24’s I have had have been heatpump failing unfortunately.

    Hope that helps,

    Steve.

Re: Sarena SW 202 – Identify this machine please

The last incarnation of these machines was the CDA Ci992 and Ci993 – both unfortunately have 90{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of parts showing as obsolete – the sump hose has been for some time now.
It is also worth mentioning that the sump hose has a collar inside it to hold it in place: the only way it can be changed is a strip down, tub out, split tub seal, remove drum….. just to fit new sump hose and collar inside it – type of complete nightmare job. Then you have to rebuild it…….. 🙁
It is a blessing in disguise that it’s obsolete to be honest; crazy design.

    Hope that helps!

    Re: Wiring to wash heater

Siemens sn25m830/uk01 is a dishwasher with the combined heatpump motor assembly. I guess your question is how to fit the wiring as the original plugs won’t fit. If you are swapping out an early type unit for a later one then the wiring and plugs will differ. The old heatpump connections are all 6.3mm tags in a row: the new version has three 6.3mm tags (heater and earth) and a small edge connector for the thermistor. Usually there is a wiring loom supplied with the heatpump and instructions how to mod your old loom to the new configuration. It’s quite a simple job even if the line drawings on the instructions are pretty cr@p.
If the loom and diagram are not included then contact BSH and they will supply one. I had one missing a loom from the box and BSH posted one out to me within a couple of days.

    Hope that helps!

    Steve.
