    Re: Recirculating water tank

Hi I had the same problem I use a booster pump connected to a garden water butt it works fine, I connect the booster pump via a relay contactor to the water solenoid on the washing machine I am testing so that when the washing machine solenoid is energised the power switches the contactor on, this then supplies the booster pump to supply water to the machine.
You need a booster pump to give you enough water pressure to operate the solenoid on the washing machine . All you need then is to pump the water from the machine back in to the water butt.
You need a contactor in circuit because the power drawn by a booster pump would be too much for a machine especially if it was a computer controlled machine.
The booster pump is used frequently by commercial machines to boost water pressure usually in hot water circuits where pressure is lower than mains water pressure. If you need more info just email me I would be happy to give you more info.

There should be a relay inside the control panel I will check and try and find the part number later.

Hi these machines have a relay I had to replace one recently when you press start button it activates a holding relay check this before you think about looking at the motor.

I was quoted over £70.00 by Smeg .I agree £30.00 is fine but that was not the price I was quoted.

    Re: Smeg DWF64SSE

Hi I had one of these some time ago I tried metering every thing on the machine except the soap dispenser to find the fault , and could not find any faulty components I then contacted an engineer who worked for Smeg who told me to check soap dispenser solenoid low and behold it was open circuit I replaced it and machine worked fine. Who would have thought it would cause such a problem, the PCB must do a check of every component on the machine before it starts a program and will not start if it finds anything faulty.
I used a coil off a water solenoid to replace the faulty one and it worked fine. Cost of a replacement soap dispenser from Smeg is megabucks.

Hi I have just replaced one I also replaced the seal maybe a sliver of glass could have been left in seal if you did not replace the old seal.

    Re: Miele dump valve

Hi I repair quite a few of these the dump valve motor does not switch off it is not powerfull enough to break the lever it just stops turning when the lever reaches the stop and you are right about the sluice program once started it cannot be stopped even turning the machine of it will revert to the same prgram when switched back on. Also the gearbox’s in the dump valve strip gears about the same time as levers breaking so you may get another call.

Thanks for all your reply’s I am allready looking at R.S but there range seems to have been cut down in recent years.
And yes the machine is an expensive appliance but that does not mean that the parts if nothing special should demand rip off prices it is not even manufactured by Meile .
    Thanks again everyone.

Re: Miele T5206 Tumble Dryer heater contactor

I can get them from Maddocks usually for £48.00 but they are out of stock at the moment, These contactors are nothing special most contactors for other uses are arond £40-£50.00 so I do not agree that £75.00 is reasonable.

Thanks for that suggestion Martin Ill, check that on Monday I did think it may be a pressure switch problem.
