I did not get chance to check motor as the son who let me in wanted to go out (he was catching the bus, house is in a village) so yes motor TOC might be o/c.
You are correct gandh1, it is a lightly touch spin button, I don’t think I was pushing too hard although my hands were black from changing the carbons maybe that’s why it did not rest.
The customer has got a new LG machine now.
Thanks to:- Geoffmackay, Tom, Pinky & Gandh1 and all of you that took the time to look.

I did a search in the KNOWN ERROR CODES and found this hope it helps

    Bosch WAE24165 . Refering to the 5 spin lights;

    Light
    Door 1
    Poor drain 1&4
    No fill 1&5
    Motor fault 1,3 &5
    Water in base 1,3,4&5

Presumably this may apply to all WAE series with 5 spin lights

As I have not had any replies I assume that this is not a common problem.
I was also wondering if the motor could be the problem and not the board.

Re: Hotpoint WD440 ON/OFF & top led flashing

I have just been back to this machine to test for an earth leak as I did not do one on my first visit and yes the heater was down, I did not fit a heater as I thought I would need the board as well.
Thank for the reply Micky 32, will now try just the heater and see how I get on.
As iadom said. “It’s good advise to check for an earth leak on any modern machine”

    thanks again

    Hi Tom

Sorry can’t remember what I did, either I fitted a pump or I did as evo1 suggested. I know what ever I did, I did not get any call backs.

Re: Indesit WIXL146 Trips electric as soon as socket is swi

There was more to this than I first thought I did as you suggested tested the socket that was ok. I even tried another mains cable/suppressor also disconnected the main PCB it still tripped as soon as the wall socket was switched.
I believe this is down to a sensitive trip and the fact that the wall socket switch is only single pole.
I did get the machine to stay on several times but each time the forth & the main led’s were flashing, then after a few seconds the first & third led’s would flash and the pump would run. At no time could you turn the machine off by the on/off switch. I did try two main PCB’s they weren’t the correct ones but neither of these worked.
So I am at a loss with this one, the customer has decided to get a new machine
    Thanks again for your suggestions
