That was my first thoughts with this one.

Strange that there is nothing on the TDS disk about error detection!

If you found the wiring diagram then you know where the timer is.

Give the timer a click or two clockwise to see if it kicks into life; if it does then suspect the start button or wiring. All the start button does is to supply power to the timer motor.

Have you checked the door switch btw ?

    This totally threw me.

When the circulation motor starts it puts a negative pressure on the second pressure switch system that confuses the processor and sends it into a safety protection mode. ie advance to end…

It only takes ten minutes to take the inner drum out.

I think you would struggle to fit it without removing the drum.

I’ve had two of these myself.

I now carry a heater bracket as van stock.

Could be a broken latch spring. I have seen this several times.

Johnny, I will let Cab respond to this himself but I think there was just a hint of a joke in there somewhere!

Please don’t take it out of context.

Prewash light flashing on a Hotpoint machine is normally a fill time out.

    Re: hotpoint engineers cannot solder

When I worked for Hotpoint I was taken aside and given a good talking to for carrying a soldering iron.

We had a serious problem with Microtronic Dishwashers, some 5 years ago, failing due to a bad solder connection on the thermistor connection on the power board. When the boards become unavailable they would do a concessional exchange rather than let us solder the boards.
