ParticipantRe: rubbish non genuine dryer capacitors
Hi,
these capacitors seem to have about a two month life span, they are available in all sizes.
Annoying going back to replace one on a Hoover condenser dryer as they can take a while to fit!!
I’ll try again inserting the picture . . .

Thanks for the replies, that makes sense as the buttons did seem particularly sticky!

ParticipantRe: The General Maintenance Co ?
For unknown companies now I ask for payment in advance.
Its high taking the job on, good chance they wont be there in 28 days.
Trouble is if you do the job for the next 28 days its going to be in the back of your mind that they have made a fool of you, and your going to be chasing it forever.
Glad they asked you and not me. 😉

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint dryer belt fitting tool
I now take the rear fan and the rear motor bolts off to tension the motor in position. (apparently this is the way the Indesit engineers are advised to do it).

ParticipantRe: CD 601W cutting out after few mins.
Cant think of anything really except air circulation problems.
In the manual it says:
Overheating cut-out
The overheating cut-out shuts off the tumble dryer
if the temperature is too high, e.g. because dust
is clogging the lint filter.
• Clean the lint filter.
• Check also that the condensed water container
is not full and, if necessary, clean the
condenser. See the chapter “Care and
cleaning”.
• The overheating cut-out will reset automatically
once the machine has cooled down.Did you check the hatch that is next to the condenser at the base to see if fan is blocked or fluffed over?
As previous poster says will it run when on cool tumble?

ParticipantRe: bosch wtv74307gb/04 stops and beeps
Take it this is the vented dryer then.
Ask the customer to test to see if it does it on the cool tumble/ no heat cycle.
If it works on this cycle it you know you’ve got a problem with the heating or a blockage side of things.
. . . . Just remembered I have fitted a couple of these thermistors 154166 which are located inside the ducting, quite a popular part to go down I believe. 🙂
Got to be worth a go for a part that cost less than £10, in stock at qualtex.

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint TCD970
Hi,
I find the easiest method is to take the four bolts off the motor and tension the belt over the pulley with a large flat headed screwdriver in the motor housing. There are other ways to get the belt over the pulley but I have found this to be the easiest method by far, I believe this is the method Hotpoint engineers are advised to do.

ParticipantRe: Biztech wanting me to do a call
Just done a job for them.
I said I will only do it if they pay my labour in advance, an hour later money appears in my account to my surprise. Then a month and a day later I received the payment for the parts fitted on the job.
What can you say, anyone who pays the labour upfront gets my attention.
Thought I would post as they seem to have received a bit of negative rap here.

ParticipantRe: Anyone want antique paper manuals
I remember being impressed at how the older guys used to be able to find parts so quickly on the microfiche, never got as quick as those lads.
I cant believe anyone could miss that stuff.
I think you would be best taking those service manuals from the 80’s to the recycling depo John.

ParticipantRe: Bosch dishwasher not heating SGS69L02gb17
Many thanks electrofix,
It was indeed the double thermostat at fault with this not heating fault.
Breathed a sigh of relief when she started heating, would have been seriously out of pocket had I not sorted it today.
That’s the first time I have ever known that thermostat to be faulty.

ParticipantRe: Genuine part numbers CONNECT
I stopped using them about five years ago for this reason. The strange thing is that you guys seem to have just been barred from the genuine part numbers now.
A few years ago I used Qualtex, Masterpart and Connect in about the same proportions. Now with Connect hiding there part numbers and Masterpart having nothing in stock its virtually all Qualtex for me. 🙁
