ParticipantRe: Masterpart web site
Just phoned Masterpart and they reckon about an hour from now should see the updated site in working order.
Sounded slightly un-convincing to me but we`ll see 🙂

Nothing quite as drastic for me but I am slightly quieter at the moment. From memory it does slow down at this time of year so not too bothered yet. Chance to get books and paperwork up to date 8O.

ParticipantRe: bs 14107 wont fit
Yeah , if anyone from Masterpart is reading this I`ve also had problems with TY14124 and EL14106.
Line them up alongside the genuine and you`ll see the difference 💡
Agree with streetlighter that you go along to a job armed with what should be the correct parts and it really is annoying to say the least :x.Bryan

Why not fit an ARM 20 from Qualtex, will fit either type of GDA motor.I`ve been put off those armatures after reading this .
Seriously , 1604822 available from Masterpart for a good price of £39:99+vat :D. At that price and if the customer is happy , I`d rather simply replace the complete motor.
Thanks for the help Jim.

Thanks , but is there any way of making even an educated guess from the serial number as this is a long distance trip.

ParticipantRe: Recommended Listening
Showing my age here but if you like Mark Knopfler or Emmylou Harris you may enjoy this superb album of duets.
Have a free listen to the entire album here
Would never have put these two artists together musically but it really works well , to my ears anyway :).

That`s interesting Dave because to me 🙄 the genuine prices are £18:99 and £9:99 respectively.

I fully understand and agree with the points Ken and yourself have made and I know we`ve discussed it before and not much more can really be done. I was simply agreeing with Goatboy on how the public at times can wear you down.
Getting back on topic I`ve re-read loki`s original post and although he`s obviously a decent bloke I think he earns his place in this thread as he ended up replacing the thermostat , lower element and selector switch when he could have called an Engineer and probably saved himself a few quid :).

Yes Chris , very nice of the chap to post back his appreciation but I`m sure most of us get the same thanks several times every day for a job well done.
Don`t want to be contraversal but I personally don`t think in any way it makes up for the ones who take the piss. I guess we`re all different.Bryan

I’ve got a great deal of apathy about posting in the public forums now. Every time I have a look, it’s freeloaders with crap machines 🙁Or am I just too cynical?
Totally agree with you Goatboy , I`ve always felt like that.
Stiil at least nobody answered clever dicky about his fire spares 😆
That guy has 30 odd posts and never spent a penny 👿 or not much anyway.Bryan
