Not actually my favourite music video but hey any excuse 🙂

Good viewing/listening for a relaxing Sunday afternoon although if you listen to the lyrics it`s a politically charged song.

Tony , about 6 years ago when we moved house and had a similar scenario with telephone number , BT came up with an option which worked successfully for us and I`m sure it was fairly low cost.
When anyone dials your existing number there was a message telling them that the number had been changed to 000000000 (your new number). The customer then redials at their expense and you know you have a customer who values your service.
Not sure if this service still exists but may be worth asking.

Almost certainly the hinges Graham. You can`t really test them just replace them and problem solved 😀 .

ParticipantRe: One Man Biz @ Home?
I agree with Martin on the problem of transportation and delivery for us one man business although obviously Project X is going to be a great opportunity and I`m sure has a great future.
My idea was to try to team up with a level 1 agent in my area and agree a commission payment for myself for any sales I get as I go about my everyday business. The level 1 agent would then take care of the delivery and installation.
This would also benefit me from a VAT point of view as having once been registered I never want to go back to being a tax collector again.
Don`t know if this would be feasable or if a level 1 agent would be willing or interested in paying out a commission of £25-£30 per sale.
Any thoughts on this bright/stupid idea ❓

Not sure where you get that price from Greg but 096331 is listed as £54:64 on the BSH website and I`m not sure if that includes carriage and vat.

I know what you mean Andy but they`re not actually ripping me off bacause I wont be ordering it from them at that price. The way I see it is they`re just loosing business and that`s their problem.
I wonder how many ELE8824`s they have in stock and can`t shift 🙄 .Mind you I`m going to check price tomorrow morning , you never know someone might be reading this .

Having searched around all lunchtime I`m pretty sure it`s ELE8824 from Connect and it`s in stock but £38:83 to me 👿 with a SSP of £114:06.
That`s better than Martin`s Indesit motor yesterday , where`s that thread on most ridiculous parts price.

Cheers Dave , problem solved 😀 . I`ll phone them tomorrow morning , don`t have an account but normally get 15{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} discount although it`s years since I`ve ordered from them.

ParticipantRe: I GIVE UP!!!!!!!!
I`ve just had one of them this morning 😡 .
Replaced door interlock(1602390) on her WM52 yesterday and also replaced the latch plate as it was cracked. Left one very happy customer getting her washing machine repaired on a Saturday at very short notice at a total price of £45.Phone call this morning telling me door has fallen off and after asking her a few questions it would appear the hinge has broken. She`s not going to be in all day tomorrow so we agree I would do it Monday evening and tell her I`ll do it for reduced charge of £25 all in.
A few minutes later the daughter in law is on the phone demanding I do the job free of charge as it was the door I fixed already. After trying to explain the situation and telling her I wasn`t willing to do job free of charge she said she`ll take it up with trading standards.
Never actually had this experience before and your views on the situation would be most welcome.

No problem with a small squirt of wd40 to help loosen screws , just wash it off when/if you get the back plate off. You may still get slight smell when you get heat back in the oven (new element) but it`ll pass in a few minutes.
Power off at all times of course :zap:

ParticipantRe: Whats the most annoying thing customers do?
Exactly the same reasons as Jim for leaving my mobile permanantly swiched off in the van , only really use it for contacting customers to make sure they`re at home when they should be or if I`m running very late or early(rarely).
Also stops the wife calling to ask me to take home a pint of milk or some other domestic matter 😆 .
