ParticipantRe: How many calls a day?
squadman wrote:I can remember my days with Philips/Whirlpool when we were all doing on average 12 – 13 jobs a day. Travelling my area could notch up between 100 to 170 miles per day. That was normal and was the modus operandi of the call planning office, on top of this when Whirlpool got hold of Philips Service they had the bright idea of offering a 48 hour service pledge.
All of the engineers new at the outset that this would never work and it never did. The real mechanics here are that once engineers are driven hard by idiots in an office planning the impossible something has to give. Firstly engineers will start cutting corners to get the workload done, Secondly mistakes will occurr or bodge ups wil be made, Thirdly jobs will become returns, fourth, The call waiting times increase due to work being issued along with return work being regenrated, Then customers start complaining to the Service Centre.
The result is that the call centre starts applying pressure to the engineers, ( yes the good one’s as well as the bad ones) There are now more calls in the system than can be performed by the available engineering force.
The call centre then want the engineers to tae more call per day ! same workload plus a couple more and with more miles to cover.
Engineers become tired others off sick! factor annual holidays into this and the whole thing becomes completely unworkable for the Customers, Engineers and the company.
My personal policy is that I require quality service with realistic workloads and travelling. I don’t want engineers rushing every day, day in and day out as it will end up costing me more money and grief.
Engineers have a life too, and are professionals who deserve a little respect and are ambassadors for you company to boot. Happy engineers make happy customers, stressed engineers make stressed customers,
How you program an engineer is interesting, perhaps their engineers have removable eprom chips which are inserted where the sun don’t shine and thats an area which many a call centre should be placed in !First class post!!

Are you sure this is not a salt grain hole?

I dont know if this model has a mag valve on it?
No fridge evaporator = no mag valve. π

Bsh man/The fridge sensor on this model is actually mounted in the bottom of the fridge compartment behind the right side salad drawer. It is covered by a small 4inch plastic vented grill
The fan is at the top.Definately running slower than the freezer fan. What you say makes perfect sense…I also suspected the fan…do you know if the fridge fan should run at the same speed as the freezer fan?
I realise the evaporator is in the freezer….
Could it be the ntc sensor in the freezer…ie not sensing the -18 cut off?
As it seems the original fridge sensor was okay is it worth replacing the freezer 1 with it…?
Thanks.IIRC the fridge and freezer fans are of the same power and should turn at the same speed.
I would’nt of thought the fridge would be much affected if the freezer NTC was making the temps too low in the freezer.July 16, 2006 at 9:40 pm in reply to: Bosch Frostfree kgu32121 gb/02/fridge too warm/freezer too c #182054BSH-MAN
ParticipantRe: Bosch Frostfree kgu32121 gb/02/fridge too warm/freezer t
It sounds, from the description, that the fridge fan is the problem.
The fridge sensor (NTC) is mounted very high near the fan. When the fridge requires cooling, air must pass over the sensor to cool it sufficiently. If the fan is running too slow (or not at all if the door has dropped and not pressing the switch fully)
Then the fridge will call for compressor run time. Thus the freezer temp will drop(it canβt help it) and the fridge will struggle. Remember there is no fridge evaporator. :lesson:Hope this helps.

I was told the company found the license etc. to expensive to be of benefit. Personally I have my doubts as to the fact that it has been disabled.

Yes, they have been switched off.—————– just to be sure, I unplugged mine. :plug:
What a huge waste of money. πFor those thinking of fitting them, we had to have on/off switches fitted, so the engineer could switch it off after hours to comply with E.U. human rights legislation.

As I’m sure you know, cold air sinks. A fan will Help with a more even distribution (and quicker cooling of contents) but “ye canna change the laws of physics”
