    Re: Maytag microwave clone……

Hi, Heres something to go on.
As far as I am aware Maytag UK never imported microwaves direct (could be wrong if previous to last 5 years) but Amana did, these continued to be handled by Bradshaws in Bristol (Plyamenca group) after Maytag were obtained by Whirlpool the microwave products where stripped out and ran as a stand alone the Amana name was continued to be used under license. This has now been replaced by Menumaster. Hence its not a copy but a genuine Amana usually sold for commercial use.
For spares go to Bradshaws, sorry havent got the number but google will turn them up. 😆

    Re: Amana XRS687BB fan overicing

check to make sure the icemaker fill tube is not blocked, valves passing water etc. this could build up in the fan chamber.
Also check that warm air is not entering the cabinet through the seals.

dispenser control board is the most likely culprit.
67003623 should be the correct number but prior to date code 10 it was a twin layer dispenser board and after 10 it was a single layer board. This number should be the single layer, but please check with Maytag spares.

Going to practice this on a Hotpoint WMA and then I will try the stretch belt on the tumbe dryer…. 😳

You would stuggle to justify the service charge on that job though …

Check if its drying clothes, You cant take it that theres no heat as the temperature inside is very low compared to a conventional dryer.
The temperature rise is minimal so anyone opening the door to feel for heat will be convinced its not heating.

    Re: Invoice Pads

I have set up with a local printer a template for Maytag engineers worksheets / Invoices. These can be ordered with your own name and details without any expenseive set up costs. I have just used the same template for my own invoices, supplied in two or three part NCR and a cover which wraps the invoice to use as a spacer or simple pad form. Effectively the form is there and they will add your details and make into anything you require.
These cover ins / eec and ELI tests and socket polarity etc

May not suit all but if you want an off the shelf job sheet / invoice without expensive set up costs let me know.

The printers who have this template is PD Print Hyde Cheshire tele 0161 367 8801 ask for Bev. Quote Maytag engineers worksheets.
If you want to view a copy of the worksheet PM me with your email address.

http://www.partadvantage.com for parts information and use this link for service info:- http://servicematters.com/maytag_librar … index.html
    Read bulletin:- ITDL-0020A-B
This will give you a better understanding of stripping it down.

Personally I would remove the transmission and replace the snubber then refit the transmission. The white powder in the base is cornflour for friction. Do not lubricate it.
If you dont have the brake spring removal tool leave the pulley in place and this will ensure the spring isnt released.
    😆

Prone to blockages anywhere from behind the condensor into the drain pump and upto the watertank. Had one last week had to clean it out several times before it was eventually ok, that ran for a few mins and then turned on the clean filter light and shut off the heater.

Re living that lot must have given you nightmares?
front plates tearing clothes, doors busting open and gaskets torn at the first sign of trouble.
Thinking aloud it now sounds quite profitable, that lot. Mix in with 100’s of worn brushes and the odd leaking pump. No wonder I covered an area the size of a decent shopping centre. :rolls:

    Re: Hotpoint 9520 door seal

Hi the door seal on the early 95’s with the 5 ribs was the 168260 supplied in a plastic bag that had acertain aroma about it. This was replaced by the 168908 for the later 95. The 5 ribs were to protect against wear from the pressure hose on the 1800’s, This was not required on the 95 after they fitted the pressure chamber to the side, hence the 908
the 168260 is in stock at connect.

    Anorak or what…
