Firstly if its connected to a sink spigot check that this or the drain hose isn’t blocked. The pump can be accessed without withdrawing the appliance by removing the bottom front kickplate you will need to remove the wooden plinth at the bottom you will also find it easier by removing the front wooden door panel. Make sure before you remove the pump you have got all the water out of the sump though as any water entering the base will activate the anti flood device .

Its located behind the fan cover on the front bottom right .no need to pull appliance out just open the condensor door and one screw secures the fan cover. no part number at the moment but at least you should now be able to check it.

The vent hose is either crushed or the vent on the wall outside is blocked.

The syphons within the sump will be blocked up and so its brought the exsposed element on with no water in the tub. In case you havn’t come across one as this really is an antique then to access the syphons remove the main filter under the bottom spray arm and you will see a container on the right with a single screw in the centre remove this and flip the lid off and that exsposes the syphons which will need to be flushed out in the sink. Hopefully could be a nice five minute job just what you need on a saturday!.

E23 relates to faulty triac on the main PCB which is used for the drain pump so my guess is either the drain pump has damaged the board possibly due to being leaked on so you need to inspect the pump or it could be due to the machine being in a damp environment and condensation has tracked across the board .

With the main dial in the off position press and hold in the start/pause button and the next button to the left of it together keep them held in and now turn the main dial one click to the right, remove your hands and you will see all the display scrolling now turn the main dial clockwise a further nine increments and a fault code will appear in the display what is it? to exit this mode turn main dial to 0 then clockwise once and back to 0 . The motor by the way is an inverter type and so has no brushes its controlled by the electronic inverter board in the base of the machine

If NTC is ok then it can only be the PCB

Yes if that fans not running then it wont work . Not cheap though and as that fan has a starting capacitor (rated at 5mf) it might be worth checking that first.

Thats not a fault code but the software number . Now you have entered and exited service mode you will of wiped the code . Set machine going again and wait until it fails again then whilst still in user mode press and hold in both buttons directly under the display and the code should appear it will be the letter E and a number next to it.

    Re: Christmas Lunacy

About five or six years ago at christmas I was called to a dishwasher which I couldn’t repair as part was out of stock until the new year I told this cust who promptly took off and in the end was demanding a loan dishwasher . I was getting all the abuse under the sun so I turned around and said look we dont do loan dishwashers but what I can do is loan you a bottle of fairy and a pair of marigolds!. The picture on her face was priceless and I was told to leave 😆 😆

Possible fault with a contact in the selector switch assuming both fan and element are ok .

If it says E12 in diagnostic’s then it has to be the valve for sure.
