If this model has the AUTO setting then check its heating on this setting as i once had an AEG d/w with this symptom and i checked it on the 30 min cycle and it heated everytime but cust called me back about 3 times and in the end i waited for it to heat on the auto setting and it didnt i took it into the workshop so i could spend time on it and it actually turned out to be the main wash pump at fault even though the pump appeared to be working 😯 😯 .Ive since had this twice more so its worth checking

the dryer fan will come on near the end of the cycle this was built in to the electronics in an attempt to keep the condensor clear (which it dosent!!) E41 means either you have tried to start the cycle with the door open or the door switch is faulty

    Re: Suggestions for a washer…

I’ve worked on a lot of ISE appliances for premier inn and mainly the faults have been due to misuse so I would recommend them don’t get the Hotpoint they are terrible and Electrolux are going through a phase of self destruction as well So it has to be ISE all the way and I’m not biased in fact this website hasn’t even given me trade access despite proving im in the trade but that’s another story lol

Select the drain programme and start the machine now press and hold both the start/pause button and the button to the left of it together until all the lights go out then the start/pause will flash red and green count the number of red flashes then the number of green flashes for example if it flashed red twice and green twice then this would be error E22 a drain fault . See what yours is flashing and let me know

The motor is controlled by the circuit board at the bottom rear left corner so it could also be that at fault rather than the motor

looks like a system fault either the compressor is weak or the system has lost its charge or is in restriction. its not worth repair 😥

The electronics can detect if the washload is unbalenced by the electrical load on the motor have you tried it with nothing in the drum if it spins fine then this would appear to have been the issue but it is also possible the tacho on the front of the motor has become loose this has two yellow wires going to it check this is secure

If the compressor at the back is running but the evaporator isnt freezing up then you either have a weak compressor or an oil blockage in the refrigeration system .

turn to drain and start the program then press both the start button and the button to the left of it together and hold them in until a code appears in the display if its ED4 then its the dryer element that has become damp through lack of use and must be replaced any other code then post it on here

B&Q sell the approved connector thats made for this purpose also the cable you use must be of the same rating . under NO circumstances should you use a choc-block or tape the wires together ive had to call to inspect 3 house fires due to this in the past .

Re: Zanussi essential 1600 6kg – drying cycle problem

Few things first you need to check the steam condensor at the back right corner what the fan sits on top of isnt blocked if its ok then you need to check the drying coil on the inlet valve isnt o/c and the noise is proberly the dryer fan assy worn .
