ParticipantRe: Aeg fill level
Hi leith
The screws on the pressure switch both correspond to one level setting, one determines the pressure level at which the switch will close inside and the other determines hte pressure drop before the switch will re-open.
These are set during production and are not intended to be adjusted so if there is a problem with the operating level then replacement is the only real (and safe) alternative.
Have a look in Repairs@ for an engineer to help.clivejameson
ParticipantRe: UK Whitegoods Washer Project Explained
Exciting times indeed, and I for one am most interested. Down here in the comparatively affluent south it gets very frustrating as a repairer when customers so willingly go and buy a new machine for the sake of a new pump or door seal on their old one.
I myself have no retail outlet, I work from home with my garage as a workshop so it would be very useful to be able to sell a new machine to a customer at the point of condemning the old one and have it delivered to their door.
Would this be possible for a one man band such as myself?
Do you have a timetable for the product launch?…and an eta for the release of the machine details here on UKwg?clivejameson
ParticipantRe: Bosch SGS5312GB – Not pumping out?
Sounds like the dispenser may be faulty which could cause the over foaming. This in turn may have damaged the heater (the main constituent of foam is air, and the heater is designed to run in water)
Time for an engineer?

Have a look at Kitchen Economy….don’t know whethere they still do their cleaner chemical….I bought a gallon a few years ago and still use it now. It looks like a lumpy brown slop, hurts like hell if you get it on your skin but gets rid of anything after an overnight soak 😉

ParticipantRe: AAAAAaaaaarrrrgggghhh!!!!!!!Zanussi door seal.
I too got fed up with sore fingers so I decided to make a tool for the job….
Use a 200mm x 8mm standard slotted screwdriver.
Gas torch.
Hammer and vice.
Safety goggles and gloves.
Suitable fire extinguisher.
Open space or well ventilated workshop.Firstly, using suitable heating equipment (I used my refrigeration oxy-propane torch) heat the end to red heat then insert into a partially open vice and pull the handle down to bend the end at about 30 degrees.

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y27/cl … n/bent.jpgThen begin to reshape the blade end with a hammer (reheating as neccessary to red heat). Flatten the taper off a bit first which actually widens the blade a bit, then fold down the edges of the blade by hammering over a former. I found an old 1/4″ drive extension bar to be perfect. Once the fold begins this can be increased by hammering on the side of the blade to about the right size.
Finally, with a flat blade file and a small round file the end can be finished off nice and smooth with a neat half-round section with a diameter slightly larger than a standard Zanussi clamp band.http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y27/cl … unded3.jpg
http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y27/cl … n/side.jpg
http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y27/cl … nished.jpgUse of the tool is simplicity….simply fit about of a third of the band onto the door seal as normal, then using one hand to hold the band in place at one side locate the tool on the band using one finger to hold it against the shaft of the tool. Run the tool around the door seal in one swift movement (letting the band slip through the finger holding it against the shaft).
Finally stand back, admire your handywork and bow to the applause! 😆If anyone wants more details then just PM me….

ParticipantRe: de-dietrich pyro oven
Thses have had numerous modifications because of temperature problems. The cure will prolly depend on the version you have but it will most likely involve replacing the clock, control pcb, temperature probe and probably all the ribbon connectors too 🙁
….and at twice the price of an arm and four legs!!!

The only way to confirm correct operation of the pressure switch is to check it with a meter both pressurised and unpressurised. You also need to check the heater for insulation breakdown which can damage other parts like the door lock.
If in doubt then perhaps time to call an engineer?
If you do have a go then needless to say you must unplug the machine while any tests are carried out.clivejameson
ParticipantRe: SMEG DWF409WH D/WASHER
…and if when you meter it you get a normal reading, try bending the contacts up and down slightly which will show the break in the circuit if it’s faulty 😉

ParticipantRe: Brandt Apollo Fridge/Freezer
Unfortuantey it sounds like you’ve lost the coolant…if that’s the case then at best it may be costly to repair, at worst it may be unrepairable.
