Probably not 😕 These do suffer from overheating problems occasionally, Brandt even recommended making sure the kitchen windows were open during the pyroclean 😯

You say the fan doesn’t work? If you mean the actual fan not rotating then it will prolly need a new fan motor. On the other hand if you mean the fan rotates but it doesn’t heat up (much more usual) then the fan element will have failed 😉

Power off at all times if you’re going in :zap:

If you need any spares you can email Shop@ with the full model number and serial number….

How many brushes have you soldered into Bosch brush rings Martin i wonder?

The fact is that wear to the holders can be easily ascertained by inspection and feel with a new brush in place…something i do as a matter of course when swapping brushes within holders and i have to say the number of holders i’ve condemned is very very few.

As to being the wrong grade or compound of carbon, yes you have a point but if it means the brush will last only six years instead of eight well quite frankly i can live with that, and so do my customers.

The springs do suffer from the heat sometimes and in those situations i can usually find another spring to replace the original.

On the whole Martin, yes i’d rather fit a new holder and brush every time, but to replace the brush alone can be and is a perfectly acceptable repair.

Re: Siemans hob , a mere snip

Ok thanks anyway…looks like we’ll have to replace the main pcb, a mere snip at £183 😯

Just as Chris says they are a mindset…a good start is to consider them just like a washing machine in terms of fill, wash, rinse, drain etc…

I have to say that having been repairing them for donkeys years i’d rather repair a dishwasher than a washing machine these days, they’re lighter to move around and fault diagnosis is usually easier too 😉

Where should I be looking next?

In the catalogs for an insulation tester i’m afraid 😕

The only way to find the fault is to chase the circuits with a meter 😉

    19. My husband has given you some help…
The whole machine is in bits across the floor despite it only needing a set of brushes.

    20. My husband fitted the kitchen…
The machine is completely bodged in and will need two people to lift it over the copper pipes…after you’ve dug up the floor tiles….

Also pour just one or two drips of bleach directly into the drain hole once it’s clear…that’ll deal with any residues that would otherwise grow and block the hole again 😉

You should try brewing your own Martin 😉

Around 80p a pint and far superior to what most pubs will sell you.

    Hi Jim

I’ve had a couple of wash pumps literally dribble water out when running…and some of these have a factory-moulded hole in the base pan right alongside the flood float 😆

If the mechanical bits have reset ready to refill then it has to be the pcb IMO

Can’t remember TBH….i’d suggest you mount the motor up nice and tight and see if the motor pulley is parallel to the drum pulley 😉
