ModeratorRe: Zanussi Fridge Freezer – Freezer fine fridge not cooling
Keep me in the loop on this one – I have suggested defrosting it first because as the door was left open excess moisture can be drawn into the compartment which subsequently freezes up. The standard frost-free is not designed to deal with such mass of moisture and will be overwhelmed. However, you mentioned that the drain hole can freeze up, this can either be a blocked drain hole or the defrost heater having failed. The latter can also cause freeze up problems.

I would suggest that because the door was left open the internal cooling parts have frozen up. If you defrost the whole think by leaving it off with the door open for 48 hours you may find that this clears your problem

Another option for you is to fit a Ranco VX0 this one is designed for use in larder fridges where the evaporator is behind the plastic liner (ie not visable) it has a higher cut in than the VT9 which allows the evaporator to fully defrost.

ModeratorRe: Electrolux ES6633I fridge – compressor running constantl
Likely to be one of the following – door is not closing properly, unit is short of gas and therefore unable to get down to temp and runs constantly or compressor is failing (same fault as previous) and finally bearing in mind the hot weather lately ventilation within kitchen cabinet is not sufficient. Repair costs (first and last diy – two middle ones you need an engineer)

Agreed – what they seem to have missed is that the individual CIH members have the choice of what they buy. According to the Gorenje web page my local retailers (including the CIH superstore) are agents for Gorenje but to my certain knowledge non of them stock the brand. We on the other hand together with another indie some 30 miles away do. Now at 150 units a year we may be small fry but better sprats than an empty hook. Noteable is the manufacturers listed seem to have dropped their quality since they went public

No agreed but once the genie is out of the bottle many of the indies (like me) who don’t do work for CDSL may review their options and buy elsewhere. Oh what a lovely war :look:
