Hi Lads
Well after a lot of tooing and frowing we now have the multi appliance warranty information packs and I must say that our partners in this venture namley Corporate Support solutions have done us proud.
The packs are professionally presented and fully inform the customer of all the key features, benifits, quality of service and cost of the various packages available to them.
In actual fact there are two packs one for the customer and one for you the service provider offering this new additional service. It will show you the commision rates along with the service rates for any work carried out on the plan along with the spares mark up percentages.
As promised, at this point in time the deal is only available to either UKW subscribers or ISE selling repair agents.
Some of you may be wondering “Why ISE agents ?” The reason is in short, that they are the people who have indirectly made this deal possible.
Due to the high volume of warranty cover ISE purchase from C.S.S. on every ISE machine sold. The only stipulation that C.S.S. have made is that any service provider carrying out work on this deal is a Repairs@ member who is therefore a signatory of the UKW Service Charter.
We may in time widen the franchise or even give it its own special forum so that we dont annoy people with these ridiculous new additional services, benifits and products ( Only joking Bryan ! ) 😆
For those of you who have already expressed your interest or who contacted me recently, then expect a phone call or e-mail in the next few days so that we can have a chat about the finer point of this little lot.
Just in case you havent heard anything by the end of next week my direct no is 08452261080 which is a local rate number. Speak to you soon !

Hi
It might be quickest to contact Smeg as sometimes parts are model and make specific. you could try the repairs@ feature in the navigation window on the left hand side for a corgi registered agent serving your post code. Failing that it might be best to contact Smeg themselves.

I know you’ll disagree but I think this is a classic case of us selling ourselves too cheaply as you often point out 😕
Anyway , good luck
Bryan
There is one other major item that has been missed off of the cost equation here guy’s and that is I.P.T. (insurance premium tax).
This little known stealth tax is charged on all insurances of this type. It is charged at 17.5{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} the same as vat only thing is that you are not allowed to claim it back as a cost like you can with vat. So in all fairness your going to have to knock that figure off your profit first Bryan.

What’s this all about…Alfie 😆
This is the first time we’ve had this particular problem. There should be no need to remove the ball in the sump hose.
Just as a matter of interest how was the waste pipe connected ?
was it connected to a spout on the U bend or trap of a sink ?
Was it pushed down a waste stand pipe, if so was the end pushed into the U bend at the bottom. The ISE machine does not have a traditional type pressure switch, in so much that it works on frequency not directly from air pressure so it may be neccessary to replace the ball in the sump hose to prevent other spurious faults from developing.
Could you give me a ring tomorrow on 07971590040 please, so that we can get to the bottom of this fault.

Hi
I have had a chance to meet up with Kevin Brown of CSS our insurers and he gave me details of the monthly multi appliance warranty package.
Basically, the agent collects the details of interested customers and forwards them on to CSS who are obliged to contact the customer directly to ensure that the customer is aware of the ‘key points’ of the scheme. This is a requirement of the FSA (Financial Services Authority).
To ensure that there is no misrepresentation of the product/service offered. The customer is offered the warranty along side a 14 day cooling off period. The policy is then encoded with the agent’s unique number who is then paid a £1 monthly commission on all policies for the entire period that the policies remain active.
In addition to this, all ensuing work is directed to the person who sold the policy at a premium rate of £55 plus vat per completed repair. The agent will also be entitled to claim spares at trade plus 25{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} plus vat.
On the face of it £1 per month per policy may not seem too exciting but even if you only managed to sell 2 policies a week for a year, you would have £100 plus per month coming in. The potential for years two and then three will no doubt then seem a lot more lucrative. Even more important is the fact that all the time you are building up your very own data base of unique customers.
There by building real value back into your business. The main advantage of doing our multi appliance warranty monthly is to keep the cost down to the customer whilst at the same time enabling us to compete very favourably with the big boy’s.
CSS are currently working on information packs for our members which will include
Key point sale scripts, application forms, price lists, agent+customer terms and conditions etc. As soon as these are available we will send them out to all those who have expressed interest.Sean

Goolies indeed, 😯 Thing is lads I was once told by a learned Scott to have all your duck’s in a row before you kick off on a new project.
I wanted to have all the stuff printed out and ready for posting out to our subscribers first because when our appliance insurance deal kicks off I’m pretty sure we are going to get swamped with requests for information packs.
I have been looking around at other insurance deals available to joe public and ours will beat them by a country mile.
Ken has kindly given you guy’s my mobile number and I’m sure that after I have a little chat with him tomorrow he will even get my UKW e-mail address up and working :rolls:
We have just to-day got news, that we have the final wording sorted on the terms and conditions. I just need to meet up our insurers to get it clear in my own mind so that I’ll be ready for all your questions.
I have already got a list of interested agents from the national UKW Sibson meeting. For those of you that did not attend and are interested then just PM me with your names and contact details.
More news as soon as I get it, that’s if Ken don’t tell you first ! 😆

Where dual fuel appliances are concerned we tend to aire on the side of caution and recomend a corgi qualified guy especially if the hose has to be disconnected to gain access for repairs. HTH

Sounds like a pressure hose problem. Do you do a regular maintinance wash in your machine as this helps to prevent the problem.

Hi
Most likely to be The detergent rather than the machine. General rule of thumb is liquid detergent for coloureds and biological powders for white cottons only. If you tend to use powders on coloured items they tend to fade due to the bleach contained in biological powders.

Hi Jim,
Congratulations on being the first tub front changer out in the field. Glad it was reasonably straight forward. With regards the door seal we held our hands up right in the beginning on this one and recommended removing the front panel and front counterweight to make the job easier.
We know this is a bit of a bind but in all fairness these can be removed in about five minutes to give easiest access. One word of caution though is to remove and stack the front counterweight carefully whilst doing the job as the counterweights don’t bounce, ask Ken :rolls:
