    Re: smeg wd16ba

have a read of this, its the module in the front bottom corner:

With a fault reported on these models of not drying correctly, or taking to long to dry, may mean we need to change the main control PCB, this is the one in the bottom of the appliance.
Smeg have produced appliances in production that have a problem with the drying cycle, this is due to a fault on the PCB.

With appliances produced from April 06 to Sept 06 the appliances were fitted with a faulty PCB with a number on the card, if the number on the PCB matches this number reference (VSD010_C63) then the PCB must be changed. Depending on the model (please note washer dryers only) the part number from the manual of esploweb will be the correct one, as Italy have assured us that all stock of the faulty PCB have been removed from the spares lines.

    part number is 696290789

Alex, you know your discount has been reduced to 40{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}?
We are on £40 a job and it might please you to know we have only recently been upped to that rate.
The smeg spares web site is a pain though as customers are telling me what prices I should be charging for spares on chargeable jobs. I no longer quote part numbers on customers reciepts for that reason. Must admit though I am getting a fair bit of chargeable work from them so not going to rock the boat yet.

and yes Ken, What update are you talking about?

the reason i ask is they have just opened a big shop on the main street of one of my busiest towns.
the thing is it is not a big town and i dont know why of all the places they could open up they would choose this one.
they already have a service force industrial unit 20 miles from this one.
obviously i am concerned things have picked up a bit again after new year and now this.

What exactly is in this shop? Guess its just the local agent moving more into sales?

    another gem here.
good old 6204370 fan element (C00199665)now £43.47! (£50 inc vat)
fit one of them at retail with a decent labour rate and you are looking at £110 job.
No doubt enquiries from the public at Indesit will be greeted with a quote to fit for around £160. They will then be offered the warranty insurance which will seem like a bargain in comparison, either that or customer will scrap the appliance. Either way the end result is another customer taken out of our market,

    Re: Massive Indesit price rises

Just quoted as examples of the price rices, of course we dont buy them at anywhere near that rate. Whats more Indesit have listed some parts as having “special prices” which are available on the website as a download, I guess for account holders only.
Mr Franz, there will be some parts you need that are based on a discount from the retail price list and these rises will be reflected in those.

Is it one of those old fashioned floppy disks they sent you Mark? I haven’t got a drive for one of those and I think they issued an alternative website link to update on-line last year?

No Martin, its high tech cd rom!

Its just the Electrolux group service agents, Probably wont affect you as the majority of their work is warranty stuff on Electrolux group products.

Where is the leak then if no water in base? Assume we are talking SMEG? IWMS is a very electrolux term though.

front panel comes off on that one. IIRC only need to access the 2 screws on the side of the facia which means it only needs to be pulled out slightly. Can acces the module that way.
