    Re: Bosch SMS40C12GB/03…Door not locking

its not a sensor its simply a magnet and reed switch. Very little mechanical locking with that door lock. I would check the hinge pins have not lost the white plastic “U” shaped bearings causing a very slight misalignment of the door

Re: Electrolux Washer Dryer Prod No. 91460600(01)

I think Jason means 914606001 01. How do I know? Got the same issue (ie machine dead-feed to pcb) on one myself yesterday and just looked up the part number and its the same. Now getting worried myself!
I have had a incorrectly configured dishwasher pcb from Electrolux in the past… they sent another foc in the end. (I am an account holder) and although Electrolux are pretty good at providing tech info such as manuals and stuff, they will not answer any tech queries.

looks like all bases covered there Don, would take a look at what the other company have done….. Just ‘cos it says it on the invoice does not mean all the parts have been fitted.

here we go again…. had to change Qualtex password again this morning, not easy when due to autofill you don’t really know the previous password which of course you need to change to the new password!!!!
Thank god I have not got several engineers all accessing on different devices out there, must be a nightmare.

Valve wires don’t run anywhere near the front display pcb…. do you mean an unrelated wire chaff maybe has caused the pcb to blow…again?

thing is Ken, it didn’t used to be that way between Qualtex and Connect, something has recently changed in that their prices of some parts are to the penny the same. Its as if Connect know exactly how much I am paying and have targeted their prices accordingly. At least it shows connect actually do want to keep my business and are making an effort while a year or so ago I got the impression they didn’t give a toss about trade accounts as their public sales were top priority.
Also, having used the same password for Qualtex for many years, they now have the same “change your password every 3 months” policy that connect have always used. Coincidence?

CDSL have never been a mystery to me. They are just rip-off middle men charging funny money for Bosch stuff you can buy cheaper anyway direct from BSH. The only time I would buy spares from a wholesaler is if the manufacturer was out of stock and I was desperate to obtain that part. Usually though if BSH haven’t got it then spookily the wholesaler is out of stock….funny that.

If Jackal and his 30k spares (PER CALENDER MONTH, for Christ sake) purchasing power can’t hit it off with CDSL then how the fuff is a one man band gonna get anywhere with them…….answers on a postcard please to:-

hence my post Martin, funny pricing no more it would seem.

    either failed or frozen up.

I don’t know if they are targeting my business as I have always complained at the cost of their gen Bosch spares, but they have recently slashed the prices and often a penny less than Qualtex. for example 154740 carbon brushes are now showing at 16.74 when before they were approaching £30.

gandh1 wrote:actual heater element failures are pretty rare on those, most of the time when we replace teh element its due to the diverter motor or seals leaking. almost all heater issues are pcb faults – failed relays, blown triacs or dry joints. I think weve replaced 3 bsh elements for o/c over the last 10 years and theres a hell of a lot of them round here!

difference between both units is one youd need has the turbidity sensor, and one you have doesnt have it, you can unclip the element from the housing and just swap that out if it has gone o/c its a bit fiddly but if it gets the job done…

PS take some solder and a soldering iron with you 😉

You must live in a different world to me, have had loads of OC and SC heaters gone over the years, can change them with eyes closed.
At one point I ordered 2 of each one I changed so as to have one in stock for the next time but never seem to need the same one twice, therefore have one or two on the shelves that never seem to fit any models I come across despite appearing identical.
