the first thing the program does once starting is operate the drain pump so would check that is getting a feed first.

Sure its dead Jim, not even the slight hum of a jammed drain pump? Think the 10 beeps are just a “you have openend the door” alarm.

Interestingly, if run without the reed in place it will fill as normal but the water tap light will show and the programme aborts.

That would indicate the module is not getting the pulse signal from the impeller jug. So it’s either a connection problem between the two or the control module itself at fault I would think.

but if the reed is in place it will only fill for the second or so…. meaning connection is ok but signals are being misinterpreted. Am thinking about the PCB but know these machines have a lot of red herrings about them.

Second point can’t be used on electric.

The Meld Knob + Clip was designed to work on virtually every gas and electric cooktop. It works with cooktops that have the knob mounted on the front, on the back, or that mount to the top.

why spoil the fun of them breaking a leg off the tripod.

most likely, assuming the install has been ok up to now? The sensor for overheat is on the pcb, lets face it, there are only the rings and a pcb on that one so not much else it can be. If there is a draw full of silver cutlery immediately below it it may be worth giving it a go with the draw out.
How many rings are on when it fails? all or just one?

10 minutes in use or just powered up for 10 minutes? Think that is a overheat error.

would advise them to remove the tripod before using, bound to be stuck to the carbon seal and will rip it out once it starts. Other than that cannot imagine any other issues with it being left.

jeez, someone has spent a lot of money on this thing then…… Bet you wished you walked away from this one. how come the wash pump was alright for the first 3 minutes of running as per original post?
The alt valve may well have a keyed 4 way socket but the 2 separate plugs can be fitted in the wrong positions, I know and I guess you will know how I know that.
Never had the condenser leak other than the usual amount of condensed water which should not be an issue.

Re: Regas fridges yes or no

IMO “regassing” is a bit of a non starter, if the gas has leaked out there is a reason that will probably be non repairable anyway and at best re gassing will only be a temporary fix if at all as many non cooling faults are evaporatior issues.
The Appliances being written off you refer to is not due to no one being able to repair them, its due to the cost. No matter what equipment and skills you have if customers are not going to pay for it then you are wasting your money. Most comp failures I come across are in built in units rather than “American Style” and in most cases customer would rather replace the appliance. The only compressor jobs I ever get are either under warranty or insured which will be a paid at a too lower rate to make it worthwhile and you will never get your money back on equipment, not to mention F gas certification. Having said all that, its probably the most satisfying side of our work and one of the few aspects of our work that customers are appreciative and in awe of our talents. You never get a “I could have done that if I had the time” comment after fitting a compressor.

what dishwasher are we talking about here? the most recent ones have a plug in lead and no separate mains filter as its part of the pcb, isn’t it?
