Dean, why not superceed the correct part number with the new ones? If we order as per the manual we still end up with 2200w

nice to see you keeping an eye out on us here!

personaly, I think Merloni missed out a major oportunity with the Philco name. They could have used it as an up Market, higher price brand as I am still geting asked by customers to sell them a new Philco.

    Re: Drill & fill?

I sem to remember relatively recently there is an AEG genuine lifter that instructs you to drill and screw them in, kit came with bungs for holes even. I think I bottled out of doing the job in the end.

That is the old “single Stud” element not one as prone to unexplained failures as the later “no stud” (part number now 493065) one. You dont give another years warranty on the free repalcement do you?

Will the low costs of the one man bands, working form home here not give a unrealistic low average cost that may make the mutli engineer outfits, also here, appear rather overpriced?

just a stab in the dark, but have you checked the door switch? some of those AEG’s still run the drain pump even if door is open but will do nought else.

We do a version for that for MFI and, as we still use the strings, reckon you may have the wrong hinges there.

Re: Hotpoint WD64S fast blow fuse

The “T” would indicate it is not a fast blow fuse, (that would have a “F” or nothing before it) Its the same as a microwave fuse, 6.3A is a common size, Connect do them 32mm is 17019L
such is their lousy search system I cannot find the 20mm version. Could post you some if you you want.

If so, the centre will push out (and probably get lost, so you need some spares) and you can then remove the outer which is like a rawl plug and expands as you push the central “pin” into it.
    Mike.

This is the earlier type aeg d/w. Whats more under the wrktop there is a row of spare ones you snap off when needed. those were the days. Bob is talking about the newer aeg and yes, they do break and are certainly not something you can buy in a hardware store. I glue em back as they dont really serve much purpose anyway.
