no real pattern to smeg model numbers. double ovens can be DO****
    single ovens SO****
or just letters and numbers such as SUK***
    or UK***
    or F****

infact looking at the list it could be anything….except 4016!

ps, sorry this post looks like a lot of bad language!

I pretty much ditched them as a supplier when they stopped me accessing their site as I hadn’t ordered for several months and then they reluctantly granted me 7 days access only, so I told them where to go, after all, only been a customer for 30+ years!

True, I did not spend a lot or regularly with them, but I did source certain high value Miele and Brandt parts from them as well checking the prices on the everyday stuff and ordering from them if favourable. (and it was on a payment with order basis so its not like they had to keep a credit account for me). Now they have have closed their shop door in my face I am never likely to order anything again as if I cannot see the product its not going to end up in my basket.

    Re: Admiral AAV8000AGW no spin

luckily the wife had some in the larder… The snubber forms the bearing that the gearbox and drive kind of tilts on, wont stop it spinning as such but wont spin fully if its worn. Often see bits of white plastic hanging out where its broke up. No need for the longer screws as in the video, just make sure you don’t release the existing ones too far-just enough to slide the new snubber in. If its not spinning at all then suspect the thrust washer is a more likely culprit

need a product number to advise but the sensors are foamed in on most of these and although there is a kit to replace them you really don’t want to go there. I think if a sensor had gone you would get an error code of some sort, best bet is the electronic. I am working on several similar models with the same fault.

    Re: Admiral AAV8000AGW no spin

assuming the whole tub and gearbox can be turned by hand then, there is the thrust washer which is under the gearbox pulley and is part number 12002213 would also change the snubber part number 21002026 do a search here for snubber and you should find out how to change it, its not hard just do not undo the screws around it all the way. It is a full strip down of the machine though, which is not difficult and probably easier than the whirlpool t/l. Hardest part is re fitting the support springs without the special tool but it can be done.

not a correct model number there. Would suggest a good look at the terminal block first.

seem to recall trying to fit a screw on one in place of a clip in and for some reason it would not fit, cannot remember why.

Would have thought a Miele customer is exactly the sort of person who also has a water softener. (disposable income and just the sort of houses with room for such things). If this is the case then Miele could get out of a vast majority of their warranty claims.
A lot of both, Miele + water softeners on my patch but never heard of this until now and the subject has never been broached to me by a customer. Can imagine its a small print clause only ever used in extreme cases.

finally got back to this one and had to bite the bullet and remove the condenser, lot of sharp edges and awkward screws but came off in the end and yes, blocked hard at the bottom. Not sure coat hangers would clear this one and no amount of water poured down the condenser even showed a blockage. Bottom hose even popped back into place easily on reassembly too. (needless to say, don’t try and remove it from the tub!) Only 2 years old this one so better get used to doing them.
    thanks all for the help.
