tip #1 post in the correct forum.
tip #2 give us a bit more detail to go on, this literaly could be anything.

assuming the the compressor is running, check for over freezing of the evaporator in the freezer which may prevent airflow into the fridge.

turn me nose up? wouldn’t have time, could have done 2 Bosch carbons and 3 smeg fan elements in the time to do one of those jobs. have fun getting the heaters back in!

need to release the side screws at the back on each side which will allow you to pull the sides out enough to reach the 2 screws each side holding the hob down (along with the countersunk ones in the frame of the hob itself -only undo the front most one on each side). The hob will lift off and can be put aside or unplugged altogether. Pull the knobs off and you can just about get the screws for the regs though the knob hole.

think how much better the review would have been had you kept the wide opening door hinge and do something about the viabrating lid.

The fault sounds similar the AEG/ Elux thermal cut out (always the fault)
is this also a common type of fault- if so part Number please.

ooh, lucky you, thats the oven with a built in toaster! I only have ever seen one of those before. Did pop a thread up here about it.
First thing to do is to check the oven temps are correct, stick a thermometer probe in the oven and check the temps are roughly what the knob says. The cooling fan should cut in at some point, its controlled by a simple cut in thermostat in this one rather than any fancy device like the AEG has. CHeck the thermal cut outs for bad or burnt connection which may be producing their own heat and tripping it out.

Its a common problem on all smegs from time to time, the latest ranges are plagued with the problem.
take 2 slices of bread with you to check the toaster 😆

Re: Watch the floor covering with new Hotpoints!

bugs me that nearly every appliance I go to has the feet screwed hard in. assume that is the way they are delivered and installer/customer obviously does not bother reading the instructions. Have had many dishwashers sitting on their base with the legs dangling uselessly off the ground. Manufacturers dont help either as when supplied new, the feet are tighlty screwed in. How often have you reached under to lower the feet slightly and then find they are locked hard in meaning the machine needs to come out, tilt back to get some sort of tool on them to release them.

It seems when i give my opinion certain people make very un factual statements about me. Hmmmm.

when I mentioned applying heat I was assuming most of us already know how much heat will get the job done without damage. It is an oven after all. And yes I have done plenty of these where the fan has lifted off without issue but confirm that there are just as many where that is not the case maybe, you just been lucky.
Must admit the blowlamp is rarely used these days but to suggest you have never used heat on any repair would suggest a lot of broken drum pulleys, tripod kits (32 years after all) etc that would have lifted off easily with a bit of flame.

I done the job first thing this morning and used a blow lamp. It was quite a struggle getting the fan off without damaging the motor shaft, but I did it eventually.

canufixit’s suggestion of holding the shaft while winding off the fan was a good idea, but I thought there was too much risk of damaging the shaft with pliers.

If there was such a thing as a ‘D’ shaped nut driver to hold the shaft still, it would make things easier

    Thanks again for the replies

    Graham

the washer under the nut has a D shape so it is possible to lift it slightly away from the fan to clear the locking pip and then grip the edges of the washer with mole grips to lock the shaft while you turn the fan. Not sure about the three in one tip, would not fancy the oily rag smell complaint the next time they cook in it.
Cannot see any safety issues with the blow lamp, it is inside an oven after all, but yes a heat gun would do the job too.
I think the biggest problem with these ovens is access as its an uncomfortable working position as never have an issue with fans on the larger, better positioned ovens with the same fan.

Re: Bosch Neff Half Moon Element Removal

have to remove the fan due that that darn screw in the middle. I use a blow lamp, heat it up for a few minutes and it should pull off with no damage to the motor.

Would suggest trying the fan motor first to make sure a) it works and b) its not noisy as you will take the blame for it if it is after struggling to remove the fan.
Irony is that on the large oven, same fan and motor, the fan usually pulls clean off with not effort yet there is no need to remove it on these just to change the element.
