Re: Admiral/Whirlpool Fridge Freezer design fault ???

hello, it is very rare, almost unheard of, for this appliance to fault up again if it has been repaired properly to address the freezing in the fridge issue.
this repair would involve not just fitting a new damper, but also a low wattage heater to sit around the damper assembly.
    this will solve the problem.
by all means approach maytag and see what they suggest, but it always amuses me when a consumer starts quoting ‘not fit for purpose’.
far better, in my experience, to tell them your problem and just ask them what can be done. i’m sure they’ll help you.

    cheers.

    Re: Samsung RS21 water leak

hello, the broken water tank may just be another symptom of an overriding fault you have there.

you mention that you’ve defrosted the tank with a hair dryer. why did you have to defrost it in the first place?

normally, that tank should not freeze. it’s likely that you have a fault in the fridge evaporator area. maybe a thermal fuse, defrost sensor, defrost heater, evaporator cover, or any combination of those.

one of the symptoms of a frozen evaporator can be a split water tank and, in terms of probability, it’s very likely that the problem lies a little deeper than is first obvious.

i would call out an engineer in your area that has experience with these appliances.

    cheers.

    totally agree jim.

i really can’t be doing with the irrational hatred of other teams. i’m very pleased that the north west is a hot bed of top flight soccer at the moment.
shame burnley could only stay the one season in there.

well done the dale in league 2, just a pity they couldn’t win the league!

e4 means no commumnication between element and board. usually means that a new induction heating element is needed.
    available from isdal.
new element will have to be configured.

    cheers.

chris, you could try putting a washer or two between the box and the cabinet, under the back screw.
this obviously has the effect of angling the back of the box down and does work.

    cheers.

Re: Fridge freezers v stand alone fridge & freezer for g

hello, if you had a seperate fridge and freezer, side by side, in your garage, you would find that the fridge would be cold enough inside already and so wouldn’t turn on via the thermostat, until the ambient temp was higher. so no need to turn it off for a few months.
your freezer would operate as normal, despite opinions to the contrary.
your only concern would be that, as both appliances would be technically operating outside their intended operating conditions, (ambient temp wise) then manufacturers could void your warranty.

    cheers.

this does sound like a tricky one mate!
the defrost termination stat is firmly fixed on the backflow pipe isn’t it?

can you force the defrost via the board? do you know how to do it?

    cheers.
