ModeratorRe: Oven went pop…
if the light stays on so does the element.
sounds like the pop has welded the stat contacts
what I would like to know is why. you can look around the element connections to see if this oven has aluminium foil that may have touched the connections

ModeratorRe: Bosch Exxcel Check Water Light on
not had one fail but a few point to note
1 if anything jams the bar from either deck it wont turn
2 if there are no dishes in the top deck it wont turn as easily as it needs the dishes to push against
3 there is a valve in the heater unit that alternates the water between top and bottom decks so if you open the door and the unit is mostly feeding the bottom bar the top may not turn. if you listen to a wash you can hear a sound change as its washing
assume you have checked both bars for debris

ModeratorRe: HOOVER WMH130D-80
would not surprise me. there is a move in the world to get everything made in china. all very well if quality control was there , but its not
getting to the point now where I don’t trust pattern parts nor do I fully trust the gen ones either

ModeratorRe: Bosch Exxcel Check Water Light on
no impellor miscount water in when it fails. causes check water light to come on and can cause overfill problems
if it is filling slowly then the water valve may be at fault.if you run unit with left hand side off you can see what is going on.

ModeratorRe: Bosch Exxcel Check Water Light on
a lot of problems with fill tend to stem from a device called an impeller jug
go here
http://www.bosch-home.co.uk/store/spareparts/search
put in your E number
select diagrams and go to page 5
item in question is position number 0529
its job is to count the water in
other fill problems are involved with blockages in item 0418 on page 4

ModeratorRe: Miele W864 Nr 00/49952175 brushes
if its the one I think it is
take out soap draw and open door
remove 3 screws from soap draw 2 left and 1 right
remove 3 10mm bolts around door
open filter cover and unclip drain spout
the whole front of the machine will hinge out from left side (there is a metal clip at the bottom to unclip)
you will see motor at bottom
pull out plugs and remove 2 cover screws. with a bit of jiggery pokery you can unclip wire plastic rivet and get the cover off
remove screws from brush gear unit and take off. (its plugged into field coil on both sides
you can then change the brushes although you may have to use the old rubber holders
to replace push brushes into holders till they lock
carefully put unit back on motor making sure plugs line up
when you have screwed it in place I use a very small allen key to push each brush towards the armature to release (you will hear a click )
you can test at this point by plugging it back in. unit will work with front hinged out. select a spin prog. As soon as drum turns switch off for safety reasons
if all well put it back togethercar108 are ok but you have to use old rubbers
