you could have gone too far too quick
to answer some of your questions
Q2 it an overflow pipe its meant to be open to let water leak into base
Q3 pincers is the tool you need but you have to bend the zig zag peice on the clip to open it a bit to put it back and crimp to seal
i said you went too far. when the unit started was there power to the main pump. if yes its the pump if no its broken wires or prog problem possibly. i say possibly cause there is always the odd fault that does not give the right fault code

this is getting to be an old machine but a good one
i would check the thermistor and look for broken wires in the loom as it leaves the drum. the flashing light is a fault code and maybe another member with access will help with that
spares are only available from miele and are expensive. you could look on ebay and see if anyone is selling second hand sparesDave

from what i can see on these boards the problem lies with the current flow which seems to flow through the plate through on the heater relay leg. before bosch recalled them i was fitting new relays but also drilling the board to solder 30a fuse wire from one side to the other to carry the current
had a few occasion where board had gone bang and blown chips but also ahd a lot that worked no probs
never had a failure after the modDave

dont this board but sound like it might be power supply chip on board. may also be scrap but the chips are cheap if you can solder

ModeratorRe: Neff dishwasher door won’t lock
i assume this is one of the later locks which are not as strong as earlier models
i have had similar problems with this unit
try removing lower basket and see if it closes better. had a customer that had put a plastic peice at the back of the basket that was putting pressure on the door
other problem i have had is levelling. if unit is not square in the unit or legs are lowered so much it puts pressure on the roof it causes door problems. try lowering the dishwasher legs and see if door gets better
