ModeratorRe: Beko DCU7230W Dryer
have looked at the tech info and they dont list colours or connections for this switch
you need to find someone who can use a multimeter to buzz through the connections. once you find the pairs of connections that go together you can avoid putting the mains on the same side

ModeratorRe: NTC cable repairs
the cable is only small because there is little or no current flowing. it does not matter if the cable you use to repair it is twice the size

ModeratorRe: Bosch Exxcel WTE84307GB/12 – Working but giving off a sm
go to
http://www.bosch-home.co.uk/store/spareparts/search
put in your e number and get to the diagrams page 5
on this dryer fluff builds up under cover 0509
and around the pump 0512to get access you have to strip off the left hand side but it also entails removing control panel to get at some of the screws
you will need 2 torx drivers T15 and T20
you have basically got wet fluff that needs to be removed
I would also remove element cover page 2 item 0204 and check in there
hope it helps

ModeratorRe: £400 on a Bosch or £900 on an ISE?
mid range bosch machine are ok. it is only the very cheapest bosch that had a sealed tub all the rest can be repaired (from the ones I see )
if you want to spend a bit more look at miele
dont know about the ISE as have not seen one this expensive to look at, maybe someone who knows the machine can comment

ModeratorRe: Beco 1530 dishwasher
float switch is in the tray on the base of the dishwasher. if it floods its meant to stop the cycle and pump the unit out to stop flooding
you need to drain the base but also find out if there is a leak causing the problem

ModeratorRe: Bosch HBC84E653B inverter mwave resetting after 8 secs
all that’s happening is the mag is not starting.
on these units if the invertor does not detect mag start it shuts it downits going to be the mag or invertor. I would swop the mag first and see what happens
cheapest place I found for invertors so far is ebay. user in Scotland

ModeratorRe: Whirlpool DWF407 dishwasher, stuck in cycle 2beeps+1beep
from what i can see this unit seems to be made by smeg ( unless someone else knows better)
This fault also has all the hallmarks of a power supply problem on the pcb. (but as normal i cant promise) The more it turns on the more it runs out of power till the computer crashes it then bleeps as power comes back and restarts
you can either replace main board or get it repaired

ModeratorRe: Neff microwave H53W50N3GB latches
most microwave doors can be tricky to get apart. you have to use severall small screwdrivers to unlatch lots of plastic hooks 1 at a time, while trying hard not to let the ones you have unlatched, re latch again, along with trying not to break the plastic
http://www.neff-eshop.com/eshop/neff/gb … earch1.htm
go here, put in your e number and it will give you a diagram of the door parts. item 0208 is the piece thats got to come out and you can see all the latches

ModeratorRe: My oven’s turning my electricity off!
from what you described you are blowing the RCD which detect earth faults
normally on a cooker it is one of the elements that are faulty
