    Re: Hotpoint WT540 strange fault.

yes know what you mean its the intermittant faults that cause more headaches
at least with the 1604321 board its plug and play and with only 1 board you cant get it wrong
went to a wf440 recently fault showing triac short. tried new triac on off chance to no avail. sent boards to emw and they repaired the display panel. i would not have guessed that one. put board back in all fine

your current fault sound like a power prob to top board just a bit weird that it does not do it till try to cancel or reselect prog. if you have done so already just glance at the main board looking for blown caps or dry joints. after that it could be a problem you then need another facia to swop. not sure if you can plug in another facia from a different model as a test to see if you get same fault ( you could ask emw if it will cause any damage)

Re: Siemens Oven – light not working but oven ok otherwise??

from what you have said you have probably blown the circiut board. It may be repairable depending on the skill of the enginner you get out. Otherwise its a new board which is around £70 plus p&p etc from siemens

    Re: Hotpoint WT540 strange fault.

i would not assume its the facia panel since the power to this panel is supplied from main board
Take it you have tried the plug onto the lower board these have a habit of bad connections. If thats not it send both boards to EMW. That way they can test as a pair and repair whichever is faulty

I always send both boards had an aqualtis and thought it was lower board but it checked ok and had to send top board in making job take longer and more expensive

    Re: miele W844

think i know which one you have got and if i am right do the following

there should be 3 x 10mm bolts in the door opening if there is undo these
pull out soap draw, undo 2 torx 20 screws either side of soap draw opening. undo torx 20 screw soap draw opening left hand side. open filter housing and unclip plastic drain tube
the whole front of the machine will hinge out after unclipping metal clip at bottom left

now remove kick strip ( 2 screws)
unplug motor and remove outer cover ( 2 screws )

undo the rest of the screws on plastic plate on rear of motor. carefully remove and you have access to the brushes

when you refit brushes are captive in holders. after fitting you have to push something down the brush tubes and push till you hear brushes go click ( i use a small allen key )

plug it all back in and away you go

its a bit tight getting covers off and back but can be done with care

    hope this helps

its not an unusual prob so if you can add a plastic cover to the door switch it will reduce the likelyhood of re-occurance

that small triac cannot feed motor time to trace it again
this type of triac feeds valves, pump and door lock

Re: Bosch Exxcel 1400S Filter Cap Leaking

yes the filter should come all the way out
if yours does not then you have prob got hair clips or bra wires stuck in the filter entrance
to remove you have pull machine out and tilt it back. u ndo that screw which is a torx20 size available from most places that sell tools these days and drop the pump down being careful of the electrical wire then with a large pair of pliers remove the clip holding the hose from the drum. you will then be able to put your fingers in the pump inlet and remove debris until you can take out the filter
    clean everything and replace

make sure machine is unplugged first and floor is not slippy

the relay may work on the bench but where you putting a 6 volt supply to it or was it powered from the pcb

the reason i say this is because usually they do not use stated voltages on the relays its not uncommon for a 12v relay to be powered by 8v and fail with age cause it can no longer pull in at that voltage

you need a virtual disk programme i use “virtual cd v9” there are others. the programme creates virtual cd drives that you can load virtual cd into then run and install programmes just as if it was a real drive. you will need to create an iso copy of the cd on your hard drive but the prog can do this for you

    Re: Blomberg 1501AAA control PCB

blomberg was imported by comet and that is prob where you bought it from. spares can be ordered through them. not sure if onsite store does any parts but an email would clear that up
cant remember how board comes out the only one i remember is its part of the programmer. So the progammer would have to be removed and from memory is held in by 2 screws at the front behind knob
