The noise could be any number of things, jockey pulleys, rear drum bearing collapsed, loose motor fan etc. A loose rear motor fan would also cause early stat failure.surely said “engineer” would have checked these things prior to completing the repair? was the noise there prior to the engineer repairing the dryer/
if the engineer has replaced the stats he should have also checked for fluff clogging on your filters, the general clearness of the airways, and cleanliness of the condensing unit. are you able to you tell us if that had taken place?

glad to hear it! keep us posted on the long term reliability of the repair – i know some diy hotpoint bearing repairs can last as little as 18 months so if you have any porblems please do post on here, if only as to a warning for others, and likewise if you have no problems at all over the course of the next 2-6 years!!

might be teaching grandma to suck eggs, in which case ignore me, but first thing is to make sure theres electricity getting to it.
a: plug something you know works into the socket used by the w/m like your kettle!
if it works you know the sockets ok.
if it doesnt boil, check your fusebox/rcd!b: then plug w/m into a socket you know works – i.e one you normally use for kettle for example!
if it doesnt work you know theres something wrong with the appliance!
if it doesnt work and your kettle now doesnt work then your washer is tripping your fusebox!c: make sure your w/m door is shut!
if i had a pound for every person saying their f/f isnt working and theyve tested the fuse to find its faulty, changed and still isnt working, yet when i put the old fuse back in the light comes on in the f/f id be the stereotypical rich man!

yes… glen dimplex !
they just pimp out the beko factory for most of n/w’s cookers! and most of lec’s fridge freezers 😛
helo_75 wrote:wel, actually, theelectric beko cookers arent bad
after all, they market them as a flavle/belling as wellum anyone come across the burner issue on new worlkd 50gsi’s and beko single oven gas cookers?
the factory released a huge batch of faulty cookers which required differend gas flame distributer burners and thermocouples. n/w knew of the fault but rather than recall the affected batch, insited on “revising” the cooker in the customers house. only porblem with this is that the engineers never get sent the right part sent out to the customer initially – first delivery is of a burner off of a graded/return model. next delivery if that didnt work was for a revised part. in total 4 callouts spread over an average of 9-14 working days between each (if the severely pi**ed off customer could tolerate that much) and a bad reputation as a retailer… theres only so many times you can claim somethings an “isolated incident” until the custoemr sees through you !!!
my experience of indesit cooker aftersales is pretty good – if you happen to get a problem theyre usually out within a week, and if u give them an idea of the problem its normally sorted first visit – for example cannon landale whose cooling fan was clattering on cooling – as a retailer explained to indesitservice it sounded like a faulty cooling fan and they actually listened to you and engineer had fan replaced 3 days after i called up!

ParticipantRe: zanussi zwf14070w drum wont spin
the new gen zanussi’s are generally too young to need carbon replacements so far. even under heavy usage they should only be half worn.
first things first, drain your sump and check your fluff filter and pump for obstructions. this is covered in your instruction manual.
secondly, virtually all latest washers have out of balance controls which will prevent the washer from spinning laundry that cannot be spread evenly, and equally weighted around the drum, and therefore “times out” the appliance, therefore it will not drain, spin, or complete a cycle.
after clearing pump of any obstructions, replace filter, empty drum of all clothes, select the spin cycle only programme and press start. report back if the appliance still wont spin.

It would take less time to apply for trade access than it did to post the 8 replies you just posted in the public forum. :rolls:
now you put it like that… 🙂

what i meant penguin was that he could check his old element to see if if had actually blown. i,e the one he had replaced. it then means he has a spare if it checks out ok!!!

Sigh,
if the original only has one stat +ntc at rear then you only need to refit ntc & toc.will apply for trade as soon as feasibly poss – just too busy atm!!
stats that turned up were like-for-like but also included a 3rd stat in the kit which im assuming was for the front? i know if both rear stats were gone you only have to fit them – it was more a case of confirming or un-confirming what i was waiting for was the right part!
problem i had was that my supplier could not inform me for sure which part no for stats would be for that machine, hence being more than happy to get them off of whitegoods… which would have been quicker and where there was tech advise available!

ParticipantRe: The New Miele S7 Series Uprights
not sold one since its been on display – too heavy (customer buys sebo x4 instead) bag too small, considering price per pack (customer buys dyson DC25)
dont get me wrong its a crackign machine for a miele nut, but for joe public miele have a dud until they can lighten it and increase bag capacity!

ParticipantRe: Miele Solution HEPA 5000
sounds daft but mieles have these new hy-clean bags that get clogged with fine dust really quickly and make the bag unserviceable, but are never more that half full!
have you cleaned all your filters and tried a new clean bag to see if you get the same problem?

you could aways check your old element for continuity. its not a guarantee as an internal split could only seperate under heat expansion but if its dead when cold then u got a fair bet the elements shot!

ParticipantRe: CANON OVEN Stratford
if you can find a local good gas-safe engineer its approx an £120 repair in total. £60 for the bits and £60 for an indie gas-safe engineer!
the £60 labour is well worth the peace of mind, and also covers you insurance-wise should the repair fail and the worst happens!
