From this post it implys you are of a reasonably practical nature. but in case its been overlooked can i ask that you have checkede for bra-underwires?

if this isnt the cause give lg a call cos most of their drums are covered for 10 years. i know it doesnt say specifically that it covers bearings but when they say the DD system reduces wear on bearings it could be construed as including bearing wear in the guarantee 😛

the leak, wherever it may be coming from, will be established and no doubt rectified

unles the merloni engineer produces a bent and buckled 2p from his pocket and says thats the cause of your problems… hope you have better luck than one of my customers!

Re: Best quality tumble driers ever made.

talking about old stuff. im desperately trying to find a 2ndary “airflow” motor for a customers 24year old zanussi TD300… – the fan motor’s bearings are shot and sound like a train on concrete!

apart from that the dryer is in perfect condition evn tho it sees 4-5 tumbles a week…!

so if anyone has any main drum-bearing failures etc (unlikely i know) id be up for taking the app of their hands!

and back on top pic W/K dryers – AW44s are good valu, and would be even better if only they had front rollers! zanussi ZDE26000W’s for midrange, and a mieles for the £480+ brigade! (not that i beleive its worth near-£500 tho!).

one warnign about the zanussi’s they had a drum support roller upgrade where the roller was revised to have a metal shaft, largly because the all-plastic roller would wear and melt the central hole rather quikly!! so try and get that changed under warranty!!!

    few questions first:

a: does the floor slope down to the right

b: is the filter closed tight?

c: did it leak at all when the engineer was there?

im assuming when you say you have checked power supply you mean u have put something you know that works into the socket you are plugging the beko into and said known-working appliance works? likewise i take it you have plugged the beko into a socket you have had another appliance working in immediately prior?

and i am assuming you arent using an extension lead to test the beko from another socket? i say this but i was head scratching for a while till i checked the x-lead!

    I am thinking of WAA28161

    ta

waa indicates the appliance is a “tactical” model. often a currys/comet/john lewis exclusive built to a price so it can be offered as a bosch, on “special offer”. some waa’s are bosch specced but occasionally built under license i.e not in a bosch factory, its hit and miss regarding reliability but if your scared of sealed drums you will prolly wanna avoid a waa as thats where they shave some of the build price, along with poorer quality door handles, etc. most waa and wae prefix models wont be german built, but in my experience if u can find a wae24364 for 30-50 quid more its a better buy!

Re: Help choosing washing machine please

and depending on who you speak to several people will tell you an ISE washes better than a bosch…

but on the was vs wae, if ur prepared to pay for a logixx over an exxcel, dont, spend your cash on a siemens with the 5 yr p&l warranty, with teh wae spec. atm siemens are struggling to move machines so many independents should have almost-internet prices, but on the highstreet, well worth a ring around if your badge snobbish 😛

    Re: Quality long lasting cooker

if you do consider the britannia route, theres several things to check out first.

A: on some of the DF models the oven elements are extorionate, and hefty if you get an indie to do the work. srp for a dual circuit grill element is £140!!! but then if you get britannia out it will be the wrong side of £200! and tbh the elements are no better built than what you find in a £200 cooker.

B: dont get a 1200 or it will severely restrict your replacement models at a later date 😉
