Participantoh and by the way
if the dryer was manufactured before feb 06, then the drums too big for the drier, and thats usually the reason the belt breaks a lot
you can usually tell, if when you take the drum out, you can see where its been scraping on the back panel, behind the motor over the top of the fans, its really obvious, youul see a big scrape markyou could try fitting washers behind the shaft to push it forward, other than that, its a new drum, part number 170662… around £60 +v.a.t
they really are a rubbish dryer, and are nothing more than a hotpoint vtd00/ indesit is60v in disguise

Participantnot impossible
however, if it was kinked, it would never have worked, and if it was frozen, the water feed pipe would be frozen too
its usually the ice maker tbhhave you checked the plug in the door, where its plugged in? sometimes it comes loose, and its a pig to get to, but its worth checking first
however, ive had one of late that had an ice maker, pcb, and a new door, and it just wouldnt work.

unfortunately, kwatt has a point.. here at ukwhitegoods we are engineers, not manufacturers.. we repair whats broken!
yes, we may go the extra mile to find out reasons for and why, but only to prove or disprove.. and that can only be at service level, not at manufacture levelpenguin too has a point, a lof of the fans are plastic now, the metal fan you can see may well only be a cooling fan, nothing more
it really is a manufacturing issue.. have you tried emailing the technical service departments of the manufacturers in question? call centers arent always as helpful as the technical side of things…
and of course, with a lot of the manufacturers building appliances outside the uk, most uk based call centers/tech services would be blissfully unaware of what the components are made of
on the other hand the weee directive does stipulate that manufacturers should be more responsible for the disposable side of the appliances, and that includes providing information, as to which part should be recyclable.. that information should be available
im sure an email to the manufacturer will provide the necessary information
we arent deliberatley being objective – we simply dont know
im sure your not unique, in todays world there are lots of people with different ailments, and the unfortunate part is that we’re all at the mercy of the manufacturers, and their usual ‘keep costs down at all costs’ mentality
good luck.. hope you find what your looking for, and it would be nice if you could come back and let us know if youve been successful, its always handy to know these things for future reference

as long as they can fix bosch, samsung, delonghi, proline, hoover, fisher paykell, lg ,zanussi, triciy, parkinson cowan, candy, etc, etc
but then, if previous posts are to be understood, proffesionalism isnt an option
