    no fault code is interesting

you may want to check for loose wires around the stator/sensor , and or pcb connections

pcb is the more likely culprit

    shame about the price

    room sealed?

    lol, was he a proffessional?

me thinks you need to call someone else

theyre built room sealed, they dont stop being that way

Well if part of the seal was missing then surely it would “stop being that way”

Just to fill in a bit more of the background to this, when the engineer (who was from nPower so I wouldn’t have thought he was a cowboy) removed the front cover of the boiler it wasn’t screwed on properly so it appears it has been tampered with by a previous occupant of the house, especially as the cover has been painted and would have to have been removed to do this. This was the first time I have had it serviced since buying the house.

As the engineer explained it the “room sealing” is acheived with a combination of the sealing strips and the front cover being properly secured to create the seal.

I’m not an expert obviously but this explanation seems plausible to me and he showed me the cover and where the sealing strip was missing. He also advised me to get another engineer to complete the work as it would be cheaper than getting nPower back out so I can’t see why he would deliberately being trying to mislead me.

    Any other, helpful, thoughts?

    ill say it again

    get someone proper

a simple spillage test would have confirmed efficient roomsealing

if he wasnt sure, he should have classiffied it as at risk and isolated the appliance, and issued you with the correct paperwork

there are very strict procedures for these things, and safety is paramount…not room sealed = carbon monoxide leaks / improper combustion

im not making this up you know

-is the door locked? it may just be brushes

if the door is locked and the machine wont go, its usually the brushes

i wondered why this had never happened before

its one of them blomberg things that leak behind the wetwall… they are r600 units

usually they just stop working before blowing up, and they have a board not a pcb

looking at the pic, the combustion started in the top right, just about where the gas leaks

interestingly a lot of thermostats/pcbs are on the outside of the cavity, and now we know why

at least we british dont have to rely on all our appliances being double insulated. can you imagine a fault on the european production line of something fitted with a europin plug and having live metal parts to touch… press would have a field day!

    that answers a million questions

    thank you

is the pump filter at the front of the machine, or is it at the rear?

if its at the front, then the drum will be the sealed type, and the bearings are non servicable

if theres a red blanking plug (under the kickstrip) then its a split tub and yes you can put bearings in it

my moneys on it being welded

hotpoint can only charge you £99 if its under 5 yrs old

pathetic isnt it? like buying the machine off them twice

welcome to the world of hotpoint

low failure rate of indesit fridges?

for a minute, i thought there was another comapny called indesit

    are you for real

ff175… countless modifications, too numerous to mention, more technical bulletins than a fair size hard drive can hadle

same with the ff200x with the noisy fans, poor quality defrost heaters and faulty board

dont even get me started on the ffa52… please

countless more, but im not gonna start a public debate on that merloni nonsense, the info is plain for all to see on here, high water level is more than accurate in his appraisal

no , gandhi, ur a diffent kettle of fish… is it really wise to post that about the arcelik cookers? you clearly dont have a clue do you?
