Re: Neff d/w s5543x2gb/17 overfills and dead?

Does it put any voltage to the motor? Can you turn the motor rotor? Is the motor start/Run cap OK? (I had a similar machine where I could not even hear a hum from the motor when the start cap failed).

From memory it should fill to the first activation of the pressure chamber then kick the motor in before adding a bit more water.

If that is the main IC on the board then it is likely to require programming with a program that you won’t be able to get.

Take the drum out and check the front seal – I had one where there was a slight fray in the seal which caused it to bind, also check the front bearing pads as it will bind if they are worn.

Assuming that it is completely turning off then on again then it sounds like the SMPS chip on the board is failing.

That’s the point of a fuse, its in line and blows when its rated load is exceeded, it is their whole purpose in life.

Sorry to be pedantic but according to the Cooper Bussmann datasheet a BS1362 fuse can carry 1.5 times its rated current indefinitely before blowing (20A is 1.54 times the rating of a 13A fuse) – it is not till approximately 1.75 times the rated current that the fuse will blow in approx 1.5 Seconds for the best made fuse, those at the top end of the tolerance don’t have to blow till twice there rated current.

Just to say that a new PCB appears to have sorted it.

Is it in a cold kitchen? What sort of insulation value are you getting? Try and find the motor connections and see if it is still providing power to the motor or not at the time of failure.

I don’t know the board but going from the images on connect I would guess that you would want to look at changing the 400V electrolytic capacitor and 8 Pin IC next to it.

I would suggest checking the drain and recirculation pumps as these are always prone to failure on LG.

Re: Bosch WTE84107GB/02 – Error Codes

    Hi all

Still looking for any information available if possible.

I went and saw the machine today, the error comes up on all cycles a couple of seconds after pressing start, I have had a check round all the components and got readings of:

    Rear NTC: 25K Ohm
    Front NTC: 14K Ohm
    Motor: 19 Ohm
Heater OK (Insulation resistance started at 3M Ohm on this but rose to 300M Ohm after removing the tangled in lint)
    Pump: 120 Ohm
    Float Switch: OK
    Door Switch: OK
    Safety Stat: OK
    Damp Sensor Bars: OK
    Start Capacitor 7.5uF

Where ever possible I took the readings from the board end, I have also visually inspected the board but can’t see any problems yet the error code is still there – the error code is lights 1, 2 and 4 (going from top).

Any help before I condemn the PCB is much appreciated.

    Thank you

    Jem

P.S. Just wondered whether it might need some kind of reset routine after sorting out the insulation?

Looking at the circuit diagram on Connect I would suggest checking out the pressure switch – it should have continuity between 1 and 2 on the switch (if it is awkward to access then try checking for continuity between pins 1 and 3 on the 5 pin connector to the board). It looks like the live feed for the motor and heater are through this switch.
