It should be simple with a multimeter to check continuity from the plug top to the mains filter where the cable enters the back of the machine. The power goes into the main pcb before the door interlock. This fault is not uncommon on these poor quality Indesit electronics.

Door lock light can be on or flashing but is not used for error codes.

Would need full model number, serial number and commercial code to ID.

    Incorrect model number given.

However, if you have a good circuit to both sides of the mains filter from the plug then chances are the main pcb has failed. 😥

You do not need to have the machine plugged in to carry out the above test, live testing is not needed or advisable.

    Error codes HERE

Not good news sadly and although it is not what I would call ‘old’, it is for an Indesit. 🙁

It’s glued on, replacement is a complete, longer dispenser assy.

Re: what is this sensor and what does it do ?

You need to view it on a PC for best picture but TBH it is perfectly sharp and clear on my iPad as well.

That sensor is something I have never needed to touch, it does not have any connections, it is used to allow a tiny voltage to be passed through the damp washing. as the clothes dry the resistance to this current increases, this is measured by the pcb to control the auto drying function.

Or fit one of THESE you might be able to find them a little cheaper if you Google around. 🙂

Sounds more like a broken drum support spider, usually caused through constant low temperature washes, especially if you use liquids at the same time.

The spider in the screwed drum that can be repaired is much thicker than the one used in the awful sealed drum and is far less likely to fail. Either way as Don says, costly. 🙁

Re: what is this sensor and what does it do ?

That is the drum sensor, it should be fixed to the sensing strip that runs around the outside of the drum. you would get no heat if that was missing.

It must have seriously overheated at some point as I have never seen one of those warp before.

I wonder if the motor capacitor is failing as well?

Several parts included in the sensor so I have attached a picture for you to decided what you think you might need.

H20 is a programmers idea of a clever joke, H20 is supposed to signify that there is ‘no H20’ or no water to us mere mortals.

Could be tap turned off, faulty fill valve or even the pcb.

Re: Hotpoint Aquarius TCM570 heat cuts out when drum reverse

The heater should be switched off when the drum reverses. The reverse/no heat cycle should only last about 10 seconds then it should stop and reverse for long time with the heater back on.

Does the machine reverse for a few seconds and then stop and go the other way for 10 minutes or so before reversing again or does it keep going for a long time in both directions.

Can only surmise that the control timer has a sticking contact although it is a fault that I have encountered only once in the past.

Sounds like you need a new control timer, part number C00291191, around £46.00.

That’s good to know they did the job, we have a Maplins quite near here. 8)
