    Simon

From the explanation your have tendered above, you will know that under the “Electronic Commerce (EC Directive) of 2002 and Section 127 of the Communications Act 2003, that I am required to put you under notice that further unsolicited emails will constitute an annoyance, which is in fact a criminal offence under part 8 of the above Act.

Such notice has now been served and acknowledged.

Whilst I appreciate the intention was not to cause offence, the manner in which you have conducted the exercise, has never the less caused offence and clearly not just to me. For the avoidance of doubt, I was not one of the many to have contacted the owner of the site and report the matter.

The Hmm, was because I wasn’t sure where/how you obtained my personal email address in the first place. My business website is under a completely different domain name and so is my business email address which means you could have only obtained the email address used, by harvesting it from this site.

I am pretty sure if this site wanted you to harvest its email address database I am pretty sure it would have made the function available to you or sold it to you but clearly it hasn’t. In fact, when the owner of this site has previously wanted to target users to take up a service or facility he has advertised it in the appropriate forum and left it to members to contact him.

Targeted? I would say I was, or are you suggesting you sent it to everyone on this list and every other member of this industry as from your reply you said the following.

our office staff have spent a great deal of time and effort finding details of like minded businesses up and down the country

    Looks like targeting to me.

A PM will be sent to you shortly with the email address you used to enable you to remove my details.

    Hmm

Now I understand where that unsolicited email came from.

AppleElectrics – thanks but no thanks, I don’t like being targeted like that and a £2.00 reduction on the price is not in my opinion a Special Offer.

Kindly remove me from your marketing database, any further communications of this nature will be reported to the appropriate authorities.

Re: ise job sheets pdf document

You will need some expensive and specialist software to do it properly. There are some free and cheap converters, but to be honest, I haven’t found one really up to doing the job.

Do you have a scanner or fax machine?

If you have a scanner, the simplest way to do it is print the job sheet, write on what you need to, scan it back in and then email it to ISE.

You know how to do faxes.

A4 flatbed scanners are cheap to obtain and do a reasonably good job. All of my 19 engineers have one and they scan their daily work sheets in and email them to us at head office. We store all of these on our servers and back it all up. Its really easy to retrieve a job sheet from years ago and send it to whomever within a couple of minutes.

I am very lucky to have a top of range HP Scanner, with auto document sheet feeder as we scan and sort all out job sheets and much much more.

    Hi

It is indeed fitted to the machine.

There are two different types, 1 fits the thermostat knob, part number 350004200. Connect say is obsolete but I doubt it, if you need this one try AWS Appliance Spares 01603 412324, they should have it.

The other one is slightly different and fits timer knob. The part number is 330036800 and is showing as in stock at Connect or again try AWS Appliance Spares 01603 412324

    i hope this helps

    Ed Hi

Unfortunately I doubt you are going to get many answers on here as there are now two many variables to the problem to correct deduce the fault.

Yes it is possible you have blown the replacement element but I would not have thought it the most likely thing.

It is possible the item your talking about when referring to the lipstick sized item was one of the thermostats and if it is, it certainly shouldn’t be in sections, so it is possible that was the cause of the problem.

It is also possible to have blown other components after the failed repair. On this occassion, I suspect your going to need the assistance of an experienced technician to sort it out.

Use the repairs@ facility on the Navigation Pane on the left of this screen to locate someone close to you.

    Good luck with your endeavours.

The part number your after I believe is 358481

Contact Dave on this site at spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk and he should be able to source one reasonably quick for you, although it wont be the cheapest item on earth.

Good luck and if fitting this yourself, remember to disconnect the unit from the mains supply for your own safety!

    Re: NON PAYMENT

    Steven hi

We have our job sheets printed with our terms and conditions on the back and the customer signs them to agree to them, usually whilst we are starting the diagnosis aspect.

Terms and conditions still have to be fair to all parties so some of those rouge traders will still come a cropper if the courts deem them to be unfair.

In our terms we set out what happens if the account is not settled when due and advise that we will apply interest at a certain rate and also a monthly administration charge of £25.00 per month for each month or part thereof the account is in arrears. Another point we advise is that we are free to pass the matter to court at any time without prior warning and any and all costs associated to that will automatically be added to the account.

Also and vitally important are to add a term and condition that states the following:-

“Time is of the essence in completion of this contract”

This basically forms a legal contract between the two parties and allows you to claim breach of contract and therein subsequently compensation and damages over and above the invoice face value if the customer doesn’t pay on time.

Without it, only the original face value of the invoice is claimable in court.

    Good luck sorting your T&C’s

    Re: NON PAYMENT

In short no. She could easily defend the matter if placed before the courts, using the “I cannot be billed two different amounts for the same thing..” conumdrum.

You can however, subject to your terms and conditions, which she should have signed and agreed to at the point of the original call, add your named administration and non payment charges such as interest and such like but these will need to be listed separately on any County Court Claim.

Better get it repaired quick before MumOf6 becomes Mumof7 or 8.

I am surprised she’s got time to do any washing, that why it took her and a half months
to realise she hadn’t had it repaired!

Re: Samsung RSH1DBMH – compensation offer

    Indeed KWatt is correct.

Bear in mind the law allows provision to go after the manufacturer unless they admit liability which I guarantee they wont. You parted with your money to a retailer somewhere and it is with them they you have the issue not Samsung so any claim must be made against whatever retailer you gave your money to.

One thing to bear in mind, Samsung have made an offer based on the cost of the unit to them now, not the retailers retail figure as the retailer sets that themselves and whenever that was. You cannot seriously expect Samsung to entertain an idea of full compensation to protect the retailers profit margins.

All in all the figure quoted by Samsung, given that they legally don’t have to offer a single penny and age of the appliance, to me anyway, doesn’t seem all that bad at all.

Sorry the above isn’t what you want to hear but that’s just my opinion.

Good luck with your endeavours however.

    Regards
