The condenser can be removed with the drum in situ but resealing the bottom hose is a pig and I wouldn’t advise it. I clean them out CAREFULLY with an old wire coat-hanger! You may not get every bit of fluff out but you’ll get most of it. I then pour a few jugs of water to wash the rest of the fluff out. Good luck!

Ask the customer to try a different powder?? If not shrinking, probably not getting to hot?

ParticipantRe: Removing torx screws from drum spider – Hotpoint
Been looking for a decent drill bit for ages, usually wreck at least one titanium bit each spider change! I’ll give these a try! Thanks for the tip

Yes, Martin. Heard of those. Also heard how unreliable they are? I was just wondering what method Johnnyj had used. Think Winker has the best idea, get a friendly Hotpoint/Indesit guy on the case!

Out of interest, how did you reprogramme the board? Thanks.

Problem with the tacho on the motor? The ‘jumping around’ could then have pulled off the pressure tube?

Yes – reset the pressure switch. There is a thread on here that will show you how to do it! Caught me the first time!

Hi Martin
Thanks for the TOC part number. Appreciate the advice! I really object to buying the heater complete when the stat and cut out is all you need.
Cheers Jason

out of balance load. What was the customer washing?

ParticipantRe: Bosch WAE24469GB/14 Door seal 2 in 3 years
I’ve also had the same problem. Bosch do supply a special seal for customers doing a lot of hot washes (to wash the oil/cream from clothes) I think it’s an ‘oil resistant’ seal, from memory. They do seem to work too!

I’m also looking for Bosch TD error codes (see my post above yours from this morning). Any Bosch engineers out there who can update the Known Error Codes thread? Thanks guys

Well, the element had been changed and was getting warm but nowhere near the correct operation temperature. Airflow was good, no blockages in the tank or near the pump and the pump and float switch were working correctly. Both NTC were good (thanks Martin) so I turned to the module and sure enough (thanks eastlmark) dry joint on the heater relay. I soldered this but still the same fault. 240V seemed to be getting to half the element but it never got more than slightly warm. I have priced the module (£184.00 retail from Bosch) but with the £150 plus the cust has already paid for the element it’ll be a non starter. Thanks for the pointers guys but this one got away!
