ParticipantRe: Accounts Stuff
We are sitting here with all this money in the fund and as I suspected the bills are not being paid with the subs money!!
If we have approx 60 members in here all paying their subs that would work out at approx £630 a year VAT from income, add on a chunk for the dreaded corporation tax and expenses like postage and admin then surely the cost has to be over £1K per year.Is it not about time the subs fund paid its own bills?????????
This question is not aimed at Ken because we all know his thoughts on paying to access this forum. It is aimed at the members who pay the subscriptions

ParticipantRe: UKW Subs Funding – the future?
Paying the subs money today brought this thread back into the memory banks. We have not had any discussion in here for a while on what to use the subs money for and apart from the new server have not spent any since we started.
My two favourites on how to spend the money were to buy a laminate printer so we can do van/shop graphics etc or to buy a ID card printer and have professional cards made.So what I propose is that we all chip in with an idea that the funds can be used for and list all the nominated items
The members in here can then vote for their top 3 ideas and the item with the most votes will be accepted.
One of the ideas could be to spend nowt at the moment!!

Question for Ken??
I was filling in the cheque this morning and a thought came to me when I saw the VAT content on the invoice.
All our cheques are made out to UKW Ltd so VAT has to be paid, fact?
UKW Ltd puts all the money collected into the subs fund, fact?So if all the money collected is put into the subs account who pays the VAT man???:?

machineman wrote:,then it went pop and she cant open the top drawer.HEEEEEEELP.M
F&P dishdrawers automaticaly open the drawers if the power is off ( unless the settings were changed manualy in the software), so in your case the POP looks as if it was the mains filter board blowing which would cut power to the drawer.
The usual cause for this board to blow is a leak caused by one of the drawer’s lid motors not closing fully. Look at the info P45 has sent you and remove the bottom drawer, the mains filter is under the plastic housing at the back r/h side and will probably be blown, if it is blown check all of the following, harness from mains filter which goes to heater and main pcb, main pcb for signs of burn marks on edge connectors, heater for o/c and also toc on heater. If all these are fine and the mains board is blown I woulf fit a mains board and both top and bottom lid motors to be sure. F&P parts are not too expensive so the appliance is repairable.

I heard throught the grapvine a couple of weeks ago that RF was off sick and knew it was quite serious and just had it confirmed this morning that he had a brain Haemorrhage.
Word is he will be back in a couple of weeks and that the finance director is running the company.

Have disposed of the sticky.
Also think you will need to give him his 75p back Ken, knowing Bill it will be brought up at the next DASA meeting about the blatant overcharging, ha!

ParticipantRe: No smoking in business vehicles from 1st July
Just been to pick up some new uniforms for my engineers and the guy in the workwear shop was trying to sell me a pack of pvc no smoking stickers for the office and vans for £28+vat. :eeek:
He said he had bought loads of these packs and was hoping to make a feb bob but was a bit peeved when I told him that you can get all the stickers FOC from the Smoke Free website. Get them at http://www.smokefreeengland.co.uk/conte … rials.html
I got all my stickers today so with the £28 I saved I can out now and buy some cigs 😆

Looking at the law on the goverment’s website it seems pretty clear to me that if you drive a van, no member of the public is transported in your van and no paid or voluntary worker uses your van then you can smoke in your to your hearts content/ or limit!!

kwatt wrote:I’ll be doing a review of one soon, won’t I John. 😉
Yep, two pints at Sibson and it is yours, it is amazing what I will give away for a pint and a packet of dry roasted!!!
An induction hob is one of these appliances that stand out from the norm. It has that wow factor that says to you the first time you see how it works” I want one ” had a similar urge when I first saw a dishdrawer and had to get one also.
I have had one now for 3 years and would never go back to gas or solid plate electric ever again.
I can only speak about the Whirlpool ones through experience and they seem pretty reliable with my company only repairing about 6 over the past few years. The most common fault we get is new hobs that don’t work and it is usualy caused by the wrong type of pots used. Some of the parts can be pretty expensive but he ho if you spend £700 on a hob you wont get parts for a fiver.
If you can get one go for it ( Ken, hic ) far better than the alternatives that are on offer.

ParticipantRe: Clicking When icemaker is switched on
Yep, it is probably going to be a faulty pcb, either the back one, the front one or both. I need the model and serial numbers to be more precise.
Can you post the numbers that are on the label next to the vegetable bin, there should be 2 rows of numbers 12 digits long starting with 85*****

ParticipantRe: Whirlpool WMTL790 top loader bearings.
How old is this Steve. I have never heard of a Whirlpool model starting “WMTL”
The only number that looks familiar is the serial number and if it is correct and is a Whirlpool the machine was made in 1978.John
