ParticipantRe: Hotpoint Ultima FDW80 Fault code displayed AL01
Like me you mean 😀
I have had one do this and it was the turbidity sensor that was causing the fault, some have them situated in the metering tank in the left hand side, others are situated in the base in the base.
It is possible for them to get water in and short out.HTHkiddo66
ParticipantRe: Hotpoint Mistral…. different diagnosis ?
It could be the board, but you need to check what temperature you are getting in the freezer attach a digital thermometer to the freezer evaporator and it needs to be below -18 or the fan wont cut in,if it isnt reaching that temperature then i would suspect you have a poor pumping compressor or gas leak.

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint Mistral…. different diagnosis ?
It is up in the baffle in the fridge compartment, the fan in the freezer will not run until the evaporator is down to about-18.
As a test for the fan knock the appliance off then with the fridge door open switch it back on after a couple of second close it and you will initialise a short test which will bring the freezer fan on for a short while.it should prove it is ok.HTH.kiddo66
ParticipantRe: Spec me a new washer dryer
You would have to keep the door open and run a vent pipe from the dryer,I know its a compromise but then so is a washer dryer(I hate them too)

ParticipantRe: Indesit D63 door leak
The dispenser is known to leak on these, usually just involves tightening the screws that hold it in .

Yup,I agree with Helo(there is a first time for everything)also check the motor plug as they are prone to wires snapping at the plug..

How far gone were the bearings??If there was a lot of play you will probably find that the drum has been damaged above the heater.

ParticipantRe: CREDA SOLAR PLUS 48337
One thing I would like to add.Above the element is a plate fixed to the top of the oven cavity, sometimes the screws drop out and the plate becomes distorted,it warps enough to make contact with the grill element and when you turn it on you get a very bright element then a bang.
Worth checking before you put the new element in.As Jim says at 90 quid a throw it aint cheep.kiddo66

Is the door striker ok? The bit on the door that goes into the catch about 20 mm long usually metal but can be plastic,!!it should only move a little and spring back into position,if you can move it up and down then the metal rod inside the door holding it in place has worked its way upwards and allows the striker pin to move backwards..and not allowing the door to shut.

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint TL52 tumble dryer.
You are right Jim the later models(after DC79) had elasticated belt 1701658 fit to them, and they are prone to overstretching.
ps pre DC79 has 1700442 fit. -
