    Re: Hotpoint WF630 flooding problem

Why bother asking for advice of “spanner monkeys”if you are going to ignore it.Nobody told you to adjust the pressure switch as they are not meant to be adjusted,I hope for your sake you remembered how far you turned that screw because get it wrong and you have a fire hazzard on your hands if the thing starts heating up with insufficient water in it.Believe me i have done the reports on them,I have sorted the claims out,Oh and if you do have an incident I hope you come clean to your insurers that you pintled about with a safety device.
You could have had the job done properly when you add up all the time you spent online and messed about with a terminal driver.
Dont let me put you off repairing it mind
    Merry Xmas.

You wonder why the machines only last a couple of years 😉
I can think of one reason.

This is not helping the customer is it though.I told them to ring again and get someone else didnt I.Not to ring in and tell people a pack of lies.
I am sure you know best though as you seem to know everything about how my firm works better than me.

Mods I know this is a public forum thats why I am trying to give a balanced view on it.

The spark isnt working on the outer ring and thus not warming the thermocouple.

    Buy a box of matches.

Yes they will helo at a very inflated price because the will charge for the callout and charge her a concessional sale price as well.
Just as an aside why should Cannon be liable to replace the appliance just because the customer had an accident and broke the glass.
As you know trading standards state that any problems with an appliance shall be dealt with by the retailler, so i hope they bought it at comet.

If I were you deagledaddy i would try ringing up again i have checked my partfinder and it is showing as a current part.It could be it is just out of stock at the present moment.Unfortunately some of the numpties that work on the spares just can,t be bothered to do the job they have to do.

Neil I was involved in these things from the start, special meetings and all that jazz and I have found the modules to be very reliable on this model.
One othe thing that can go wrong is where the wires are connected i the freeze compartment behind the plastic shroud.Sometimes small bits of ice forms on them and causes some weird faults, dry it thouroughly and apply a smear of vaseline or something over the spade connectors to prevent it.Also check that the connectors show no signs of burning as I have seen these burn out where they are foamed into the back panel.

I dont doubt that it doesnt work but the doors on these are prone to dropping so when the door is closed the switch doesnt make.

Is the door closing the door switch, unless this is closed the fan wont run.
I would check the flap valve as well, push the door switch in and you should hear valve open or close.

Thats throwing good money away stick the money you would pay on insurance in the bank and put it towards a new machine. You are just going to give yourself and the service engineer a hard time.

    Re: hotpoint wf860 stuck

It could be heater fault or pump fault or motor playing up.On these machines if you get a fill/drain/heat time out the prog will continue to the end but you will get 1 minute showing on the display and as you say it wont spin or end the programme.
