Remove plug from wall or switch off at supply ,remove rear panel and look for two terminals approx1 ½ inches apart ,find the studs either side and undo the nuts on those studs

Actually Ally that’s raises another point ,if you are working for a manufacturer direct then you should be able to expect a certain level of support from the tech line, but what if you are doing work 2 steps removed I.e manufacturer farms work to another company who farm the work to you you could find yourself struggling.

Then again I had a machine that just wouldn’t allow the cust to operate from his tablet ,but it would from his phone , tech line couldn’t help so got fed back to factory who made a couple of suggestions ,all this time the cust is doing his nut as it’s “not doing what it should do ” we called 3 times in all and in the end John Lewis exchanged it.

We got paid once as it was regarded as a recall the other 2 times despite us carrying out what factory said.

I take the point that maybe we are drilling down in to too much detail, but the reality is that as this stuff comes in to the “cash” or extended warranty world then we are not just dealing with a straight forward fault.

Here is something else to ponder, what happens if a smart allliance is hacked and a safety device is disabled consumer uses the appliance and it catches fire.

Now I Know you could say it won’t happen, but bearing in mind that appliance s have to be tested for the worst case scenario …

But “how” do we keep up ,I’ve done training on them but only for one manufacturer.
For the average multi brand engineer in years to come how are we meant to keep up with advancing technologies ?

Then it requires PCB’s but like I says before beware the compressor as well

    Re: Samsung DV80H8100HW

That’s good news then as the compressor is not available as a spare part ,it comes as a completely sealed R134a system all pre installed on the base with the motor ,the most common fault was that when cleaning the condenser the cust managed to crush the fins ,the compressors also had a habit of becoming incredibly noisy but obviously you wont know that until it resets however the other thing to be aware of is that sometimes when they went HE you also had to change the PCBs as well. Obviously if you can clear the HE error given your knowledge you can ascertain wether the compressor is noisy or not.

    Re: Samsung DV80H8100HW

Try this ,but normally it needs a base assy as the compressor is knackered

even Vestel has connected product due to be sold under the Sharp brand.

Are the guys expected to repair those for the same rate as they get for a basic £180 washer sold as a Bush from Argos? Would anyone think that even remotely sensible or a reasonable ask

That’s my point ,if it’s seen as a consumer must have then the “lower end” brands will have to have it otherwise they will lose customers ,there are already some brands you can’t get the simplest of parts for ,so what hope an LCD screen
