Then you are asking the wrong people ,the timers come as a spare part no engineer would normally have cause to strip it down.

Not easily. Many of the devices being targeted are hard to update and the passwords on some, according to one report, are hard-coded which means they cannot be changed.
There is also the difficulty of identifying whether you are using a vulnerable product. A lot of IoT devices are built from components sourced from lots of different places. Finding out what software is running on them can be frustrating.
Also, even if recalls and updates are massively successful there will still be plenty of unpatched devices available for malicious hackers to use. Some manufacturers of cheaper devices have refused to issue updates meaning there is a ready population of vulnerable gadgets available.”Another point what happens when they are out of warranty or if the code developer goes bust.
Re: WTA 2017 conference
If you haven’t been to one in a while or have perhaps never been ,this really is the one to go to.
I know I’m biased but the sheer effort that goes into these conferences is immense,from meeting the audio visual company at the venue last week to travelling up to Scotland for a team meeting at the end of this month the WTA guys put a whole lot of effort in to this, all of it behind the scenes and for the most part at their cost.
Why do we do it? because we want an industry that isn’t just reactive but proactive, an industry that feels like we are being heard whether by WP’s ,Manufacturers,Brand owners ,wholesalers or spares suppliers.
Year on Year we have tried to raise the Bar and make it better for all who attend.
The venue is being revamped in the bar area ,and we are working on having a Conference lounge on the Thursday with the buffet that Bryan mentioned.
All in all this looks to be a good one.
And for those that get bored with Kenneth and myself at the front we also have some interesting speakers this year from within the industry.

There is no service manual as such ,what do you need to know ,also need the full model and serial no (On the back or if the cust has the handbook its on the front in the centre,or if you are really lucky its still on the front at the bottom of the door somewhere )

That’s odd as if you are an apprentice for who I think you are ,you carry out warranty work for a manufacturer that produces a wide range of refrigeration,predominantly side by sides ,or is that why your questions mainly relate to side by sides ?
