This reminds me of a Smeg DwF 64SS I had not long ago ,Dishwasher Little under two years old two beeps and nothing ,Open circuit solenoid on the dispenser ,Lovely thinks I ,change the solenoid and lo and behold I get an immediate E8 diverter valve is absolutely jammed solid so I order the valve return to fit I then fit the valve only to find that the motor is knackered luckily the customer was watching my every step and understood that every time I cleared one fault I was presented with another ,I took the whole appliance in leu of callout in the end and stripped it for cosmetics now the Smeg is regarded as a premier brand but why they make them so complicated I will never know after all it only washes the dishes !

And as for your last paragraph Dave you are right but it seems the only people that don’t see it is some of the Work providers and manufacturers we deal with ,perhaps one day they may appreciate us more ,but I somehow doubt it ,its all about money at the end of the day

Way back in the days of mastercare we took on Servis work through a company called CC domestics( which later morphed into G.B.DAR, when they took over the spares distribution for Servis UK)as a top up to what we were already doing ,Mastercare dropped their agent’s network in favour of GDA and we were left with GBdar as our largest work provider.
we just about made it pay by being absolutely on top of returns and invoices (Requesting copies when they were missing etc )and damaged spares etc ,And according to GB we were one of there better agents for paperwork etc ,And to their credit they paid on the nail like no oher at that time , then a couple of things occured
I lost all my engineers ,some due to head hunting by others , some due to illness,I took the decision to downsize and not re employ ,So I informed GB of this and accordingly reduced my postcodes of course I was then left with 4 van stocks to absorb .

a few months after this I recieved a letter from GB with a computer printout showing I had bought less spares than I had claimed for over a 3 mth period,It also had a line in it suggesting that by fitting parts not purchased from GB I was jeopardising their relationship with SUK ,We wrote to them reminding them of our abundance of stock and heard nothing more ,However I didn’t like the accusation and made a mental note to try and obtain more work from another source
Then to compound matters I had a string of M3022 write offs due to brg failure and they were paying me 1/2 fee on all write offs including D&G the problem was I found I would go out with 10 GBdar jobs and 5 could be written off through no fault of my own ,Yet I had gone to the customers house in good faith diagnosed the fault , worked out a quote ,made the phone call, only for the insurer to laugh and write it off
all for the princely sum of £13.50 ! then factor in your fuel ,insurance ,public liability .calls to customers mobiles etc I concluded I was making a loss
The final straw was the plastic tub machines I had two machines that failed on the first use and Servis wanted to repair them but they didn’t have the parts in stock ! so I got the mouthfuls of the customer !!
That was enough for me I bailed out ,And sought more cash work
Everyone is entitled to run there business as they see fit ,But the only thing I would say is if you are using GBdar as a filler make sure that filler is not actually creating an even bigger hole in the long run .

    Hi
From the symptons you describe their is a strong possibility you will need a replacement dispenser assy ,But you would need an engineer to verify this ,try repairs at or directories for an engineer near you

Its the dispenser solenoid ,Complete dispenser or if you are careful you can use an inlet valve solenoid just gently prise of the mounting bracket from the old one ,And refit in reverse

just a note to say that this carriers ticket wont break the bank account, for me its only £90.00 for three years so its worth having, and my local trade collector will not empty my waste bin without it.
    Cheers Bob.

    Hi Bob
How did you go about obtaining it ?
