    Re: Indesit £74.95

I presume the “from” might mean a different rate for different appliance types. Maybe the low one is for a cooker hood? Am tempted to call 08448 224 224 and just ask. Nah, can’t be bothered really.

Suggest phone call to Connect to sort it out and at same time get them to accept return. If you go through mediator, I’m sure it will come up with same part.

    Re: Lux group bearing kits.

I think they are the only genuine kits they do. Other than that, if you want genuine, it has to be seperate parts. Small are 6204/6205. Large are 6206/6207 IIRC. Seals are best bought genuine for larger bearings.

    Thanks.
😕 It’s not so much the size, it’s how you use it.8O

No, I mean it sounds like the WM series brush jobs are finally beginning to run out, even in Oldham. 😆

Internet Explorer? How old fashioned! 😆 I’m using Google Chrome. 8)

iadom wrote:Does that option exist in Auctiva?

I don’t know, really. Didn’t see any options just copied and pasted the url enclosed by img thingys.
I’ll have a play with them other hosts when I get another dead day with nothing better to do. Which probably won’t be long under this “government”. 🙁

Great, time to go out and spend some time in the shed inventing a GPS tracker jammer over-rider to be purchased by all emergency services (huge market!):D Probably big sales potential to the military too. Although they’ve probably already got a GPS tracker jammer over-rider blocker.:(

Hmm. Wonder if this will work?

Hmm. I can’t see them. Can anyone else? I’m using Auctiva which I use for e-bay.
Ah, OK, right click and select open in new tab! Now how do you get them to display directly in post?
BTW, I realised after doing this bodge (which is still working 😯 ) that I could have got the triac version of same device and soldered it to tabs but would still have had to re-establish burnt out links through board.

Better get in there early. If we all join up it’ll be a scramble to be first on the buzzer. The Bosch no drum action jobs will be snapped up three seconds after they’re posted. Newcomers will be left spending time on four posts trying to sort out intermittent heating problems on “Hotpoint” dishwashers.
You won’t be able to take time off any more without switching off your computer.:(

OMG, please no! Is that how we’re all going to end up?
It’s happened already to many of the smaller high street parts retailers. Replaced by someone in a call centre.
Are we engineers destined to end up being replaced by helpful, bright young things in call centres who’ve had a couple of weeks training in reading service manuals?
I can see it now, “Yes sir, your machine has stopped working. Would you like to press the red button on the remote control now, so that I can access the diagnostics for you via the wireless consumer interface relayer module?”

I sometimes wonder if capitalism will win in the end and destroy the vision of freely shared information on the internet. Perhaps the powers that be (through your man at no. 10) will step in and call a halt. Maybe UKW will be forced by law to take down its public forums (“in the interest of public safety”, yeah :rolls: )
Mind you, it would be a good idea 💡 to check your PLI will cover you against any disaster caused to an innocent numpty who takes your advice after you forgot to mention (for example) to disconnect / discharge this or that.

Yep, I’ve been trying to work out how I could cash in on that for years. Early thoughts about ten years ago were to set up a premium rate number but never felt confident about it, as advertising it would cost.
Has anybody here made any shillings by signing up with the likes of just answer? I guess it has to be the way to go. As I get older, I get less and less motivated to get off my office chair and go out to some miserable kitchen.

    Re: Just Answer

Well today I went to fit a door seal to a WD61 for a customer I’ve had for a long time. It was the first time I’ve been out to fit a door seal for… well I can’t remember… two months at least. Fan elements? Don’t remember doing more than about one a month for the last six months. Interlocks, again one per month. Hang on, what have I been doing? Let’s have a look back through the diary….
Hmm. Three or four brush jobs (Bsh, AEG, Zan etc.), quite a few “NFF = no fault found”, a few filters to empty (despite the fact I usually sort them over the phone), various intermittents, a few BER’s, a kinked hose, a few pcb repairs, dw heater element, dw door wiring, dw blockages, drum pulley, dw interlocks and handles, a cooker stat or two, t/dryer elements and bearings, capacitors here and there, suppressors. A right old mixed bag really. It seems to be mostly older folks who are afraid to mess or too arthritic to.
💡 Don’t get many households where there’s a young / middle aged man anywhere near to hand.
Not sure what conclusions to draw. Maybe the internet is doing it. Maybe door seals and fan elements are becoming sturdier and even brushes are lasting longer???(Tongue in cheek.)
    Mike.
