Continuity from lower ntc to board terminal? Sure it didn’t pull out again when you lifted machine back?
Using original board or new one or tried both?
Seems unlikely there’s a second fault when the “obvious” one was so clear.
However, would be worth doing another search of the forums. Water valve coil is a favourite to fail. There’s a hint in there of pressure switch problems too. Also what about diagnostics, as Martin suggested.

    Re: Bosch WAA24160GB/01 drum spider

I’ve very rarely found a fracture so subtle that I could not detect it by pushing and pulling at various points around the drum. One time when I did fail to detect one, I did the bearings and reassembled the whole thing. Only found the fracture when called back a few weeks later.
Top spin speed with a full drum will also usually show a wobbly drum lip, though this can be misleading as some drums are distorted anyway.

    Re: Whirlpool PCB?

Hey Martin114, I was reading an earlier thread in which you gave a link to a data sheet for this 22 ohm resistor. I read the data sheet welwyn-tt.com and found it referred to a “pulse resisting FUSIBLE resistor”. Seems like maybe the thing is a protection device if that is the correct replacement?

Anything under 40 Megohm @500v will cause this. Disconnect heater element if in doubt.

    Re: Whirlpool AWO/D 4705 dead.

Have you checked the 22 ohm fusible ( I think) resistor on the board?
Do a search “22 + wirewound” should bring it up. If not, could be brushes apparently.

    Re: Hoover 5036 module

Was looking at a WDM120 today. I think that’s same module or similar. I cannot imagine anything would work at all, motor wise, if you had put them back wrong way. Unless you left without a final functional check and I don’t think you’d do that. Only thing I can think is, how did 1st motor go down? Not water leaking onto it I hope.

What method are you using to check from the front?

Did you try doing a search? There’s quite a lot comes up in response to “Zanussi AND drying” select: trade tech enq. only.
Here’s just one, zanussi not drying

    Re: Lux group bearing kits.

Good question. I don’t have a clue. That’s just what’s written on the bearings.
If you tap those numbers into Connect’s search box though (one at a time) something should come up!

    Re: Interference suppression.

I’m thinking the best way to find out would be to take a small portable radio with me. Added advantage of being able to listen to radio 4 instead of the rubbish some people have blaring in their kitchens. 😀
I know that if I set my own radio (analogue) close to my computer, I sometimes get a little bit of interference.
Really would like to know if digital signals are also affected.

in reply to: Indesit £74.95 #320755

    Re: Indesit £74.95

This is very true. To be fair, Connect and Masterpart try to suggest alternatives but they probably are also having difficulty keeping up. After all, it must already occupy several staff and there is a limit to how much they can spend on it and still be in profit. (Cue avalanche of cynicism. :duck:)
Today, I found a Whirlpool interlock cheaper retail on espares than trade at Connect. Still unlikely to buy it from espares but it means I’ll have to do still more research to find where I can buy it for under a tenner and probably with a different part description and number and make.
I’d be ready to pay someone at UKW a few quid a week to do all this for me. And if we all agreed to do the same, maybe there’d be a decent salary in it?
(Whoever took it on would be asking for a heart attack through stress, though!)

Ah yes. I did forget that. I was thinking it worked like a suppressor on a car and inhibited radio waves from e.g. the brushes sparking or switches switching. It doesn’t do that? (My knowledge of radio waves is approximately nil.)

    Re: Zanussi FJ1033C instant spin.

Measured output from tacho connections at module when motor turned by hand and found the normal sort of volts registering. I assumed all must be well in there but I suppose it’s worth prising the thing off to look see if the magnet’s loose. It’s an unusual looking motor (AEG, possibly) and the tacho clip looks about as easy as the one on an FHP. 👿
