Well, here’s a couple of similar experiences from my own record:
    ZWF1221
    ZWD1480
But I’m sure you could find more with a bit of searching.

Agree with all of that with reservations about motor reliablility, not from own experience but from reading on here. And parts availability and price is a bit spasmodic.
Also, why is it the LG bearing sets always last exactly 7 (seven) years?

Yeah, I know, I read your post. But I still think anything’s possible with these fancy electronics.

Re: zanussi zwd1681 / ewm3000 board service manual

Next time I come across one, I think I’ll bring the old element away and experiment with drying it out. If successful, I’ll offer it to next customer on a reduced-price basis (re-conditioned part) with equal guarantee (one year) to that given with a new element.
I guess the machines which designed the “pack up below 40meg” system, aren’t likely to be reprogrammed while Electrolux continue making money out of it.
Maybe I should suggest customers schedule in a “maintenance dry cycle” every now and again.

Odd indeed. Have had one which pulsed water valve during spin and it was down to low brushes on the Bosch type motor (thanks to P45’s advice). You’ll need the dual tag type brushes I expect. So I’m with adv on this.

Re: zanussi zwd1681 / ewm3000 board service manual

It’s obvious when you think about it. So often this happens when it’s people who “rarely use the dryer.”
    …….keep thinking……..
    You got it!
Element stays cool for months on end in a humid environment because some water vapour is sure to travel up into the dryer section every time the washer is used. Result is element slowly but surely absorbs moisture, then when insulation drops below 40 megohms the electronics step in and shut everything down.

I’ve never done this myself but your post makes me think it would be worth connecting an ammeter or clamp meter in line with dryer element.
My guess is there isn’t current flowing through the element for any length of time and the fault probably will be somewhere on the board.
If current was flowing your led screwdriver would only light up on one end of the element.

Re: those nasty w/p pumps which leak from the rubber and…

Sometimes get a customer who says, ” I want it fixed but it doesn’t matter if it only lasts a few months because I’m: having the kitchen done / flogging it with the house / going for a ten-year round the world tour next month”….or similar.
Your solution would be ideal in such situations.
    Self-amalgamating tape’s pretty good too 😀 .

As the much-missed* John Major once said, back to basics:
Is there 240v across the inlet valve?
If yes, then valve is faulty or H2O supply pressure / blockage in supply. Could try filling dw using a saucepan to required level and see what happens.
If no 240v at valve, trace wiring back to board / request circuit diagram.

    Re: LAV 539 3way valve

I should think it would be easier just to split up the ribbon cable and butt connect some ordinary wires to it. Or lever off the whole coils plus circuit assembly (if all coils OK) from the old valves and plonk them down onto the new.

I heard this machine making an awful racket when I was there to fix the cooker a couple of months ago. I offered to investigate but she declined, possibly as it was early evening and she could see I’d had a long day. One of my best customers.
