Good thinking. Will do as you suggest. This one didn’t seem to have the strengthening plates as usually seen on WM series.

    Re: LG WM 16110FD

That’s odd. I was sure I posted about a similar sort of fault a couple of weeks back but can’t now find it.
What happened there was I had a machine with dE error and putting in new lock didn’t cure it. Then it refused to even switch on. Taking out fascia board I discovered about four of the tactile switches had gone intermittent, probably due to a damp environment. One of these was the on/off switch. Replacing them cured it. Also looked at main (jellied) board and found some apparent leakage from a suppressor cap but the thing worked anyway so I left that till it becomes critical.

1320045162 is the latest part number for the complete drum according to lux.co.uk yet on their exploded diag. they show it as a seperate assy and will even sell you a single (as far as I can make out) spider fixing bolt for £6.53.
If you tap in that part number to CDSL’s searchbox it brings up an unusually clear set of pictures of the drum which might enable you to decide whether any of the spiders you have in stock will fit.
    Bearings are 30x62x16 and 25x52x15 (= 6206 /6205 ?)

No, you wouldn’t miss that, would you?

I can usually tell where they’re calling from by the number on the display. “No. withheld” or “not available” and I usually leave it for the answerphone. Ditto distant jobs. Ring them back if I feel like going for a long ride later in the week and can take in several. Local jobs usually get priority, unless they’re tumble dryers or Indesit, Servis, Nextra, Matsui, etc.

You can disconnect the dryer element and the wash side will then work fine. As a temporary or permanent measure.

£4.49 up to 10Kg. On-line tracking and insured up to £40.
Only thing is recipient has to pick it up from their local all-hours shop but I don’t suppose Tony would mind doing that. (It might mean a few more people willing to send in the old boards if they could send them that cheap.) Also it’s slow – about five days.

    Open to suggestions..
I would suggest replacing the relay anyway. I have found by experience, though mainly on washing machine modules, that although a relay will show as good on a test rig it can cause a fault code in use and replacing it often sorts out the problem. The contacts inside the relay will be a little burnt and that will be enough. When I replace them I always cut open the old one to confirm my suspicions.

In what way is your bearing resisting extraction? Is it stuck in its housing, stuck on the shaft or both?

Don’t forget, forty megohms on either element is “low insulation” as far as these boards are concerned and they’ll shut down. Says so in service manual.

Yeah, you’re surely right. Probably would be no bad thing to encourage DIY. If they’re incompetent they’ll bust the thing proper and I’ll make more money. 😆
