ParticipantRe: Hotpoint Service CD Rom.???
I had a look as I was logged in there anyway and all I found was a half dozen unofficial CD manuals (possibly written by the vendors) some specifically for how to do WMA bearing changes and a couple of manuals for WM and WMA machines generally. Looking at photos they seem to be well written and if anyone was just starting up would be excellent value, I’d think, at £3.99/£5.99 each incl. P&P.
Gonna have another look and see if there’s any for Zanussi, might be something a bit easier to digest than the official manuals.

Send ’em to me. I’ll take £45 for cash. 😆

In stock at Connect. Bit cheaper too. (Sorry ’bout that, I know you don’t like ’em.)

Got to agree with you there, LJ. When you’re new in an area, you’ve got to get the message out. But that means a bit of investment which doesn’t always pay for itself, although it probably will in the long term. Depends too on how content or otherwise your potential customers are with people already established locally.
I’ve got to the stage where I’m content to work just enough to pay the bills, no ambition to become one of the super rich like Martin or Iadom 😆 and certainly not interested in working all the hours under the sun when there’s other things to do in life.

ParticipantRe: BEKO WMA745W
Well at least with these Bekos a new module doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. Replaced one on a WM6152 recently for similar fault – £25 trade, £45 retail. Having said that, if it doesn’t fix it, you’re lumbered with the part as it’ll likely be sometime before you see another one.

ParticipantRe: Zanussi ZWD1480W absolutely DEAD.
It’s strange. I woke up this morning with a clear memory of a similar situation on a Zanussi about ten years ago an FJ model or some such. And it was then an o/c pump discovered after much head scratching over a dead machine. And the weirdest thing of all is that it was that customer who recommended me to this one! (cue twilight zone music)

ParticipantRe: Worst Week Ever
I guess it would bring in one new customer a week which compounds over time….drip,drip.. and served as a reference for old customers who had lost my number. It was only a linage ad about 30 words in the local weekly. There’s no really local daily here except the one serving the whole West Country. I’d renewed the contract annually for eight or nine years. It was only a fiver a week at the beginning of that period but has crept up. I can always re-start it if I feel like I need more work.

ParticipantRe: Worst Week Ever
As there hasn’t been a post here for two whole weeks does it mean the “mini recession” is over (til the next time anyway)?
I allowed my ad contract in the local paper to expire at the end of July. Haven’t noticed a drop off yet. Maybe I can fly without them. Saves me a tenner a week anyway.

Sounds like a possible. Don’t worry, I’ll certainly let you know if you’re right. (Unless customer decides he’ll let Currys have it before I get back there :rolls: ). Won’t be going back till end of next week though.

Should be posted in the public forum too, if not yet done.

Phew! Thanks Phil. Didn’t want to have to repeat that job.
Can’t think why you’ve had to do that lots of times though 😕

Connect have 5031682195987 in stock at £4.70. Check pics carefully as 5031680592368 is the out of stock one I think comes up under C00199383. They do look similar and yet different. 😕

Thanks for the tip Chris. I’ll bear it in mind to look for a dry joint if/when problem comes back.
