    Re: Worst Week Ever

Sounds fantastic. Bring it on. Could Electrolux and Merloni not learn a thing or two about where to put main boards from this? And Bosch learn how to build dishwashers which don’t need a total stripdown to access a heater element?
Anyway, there’ll always be something else to repair and always people who are scared to touch anything they don’t understand inside out.

Re: Bearing Kit Needed for Miele W833

    Welcome to the site.
It has just recently become apparent to me that you can get exploded diagrams for this and other Miele machines on Connect Distribution Services Ltd.’s website. You’ll need an account with them of course. However the diagrams don’t give part no’s and although front and rear bearings are listed as available to order they are around the £50 mark ea and no sizes given. As regards shaft, it looks like it will be complete inner drum only. There are a few people on here who do Miele regularly and you will probably get a better answer from one of them when they see your post. Meanwhile, best give the manufacturer a ring if you think you’re going to need the shaft.

I don’t know for sure, I’m just going by what I’ve found on similar Zan/Aeg machines coupled with years of vaguely remembered posts on here!

I’m pretty sure similar faults to this have been discussed on here before but maybe under the equivalent Zanussi model numbers. Suggest a search something like “Zanussi AND drying”.

Motor damp? Unplug it and see if machine starts to work. If not that, could be another component down on insulation or the interlock/board damage scenario.

    Dunno.
You can find more parts by simply tapping e.g. “Miele brushes” or “Miele pump” into the search box.

Re: AWZ7813 what’s difference between wheel roll and shaft+r

Oh dear 🙁 . Hope I don’t have to make some new mudguards for my bike. Good idea for re-use though.

According to exploded diag on Connect/mediator there should be one bolt below door seal bottom lip.

Low insulation on motor (damp) can cause funny faults on these. Definitely worth checking that plus other components meggered individually (or just disconnect in turn).

Re: AWZ7813 what’s difference between wheel roll and shaft+r

Ah, all is revealed. Thankyou Chris. Just one more thing, this one’s under a year old apparently ( they don’t have time for waiting in for WHP to not find the place etc.) and is making a knocking noise. It’s in a holiday let and won’t have had much use but could have been overloaded. Any idea of what I’m going to need to take along to get it in one hit?

Re: AWZ7813 what’s difference between wheel roll and shaft+r

OK, so they are the same wheel then 😕 , except that if you buy the wheel complete with its attendant shaft you get it cheaper than the wheel on its own?

in reply to: Zanussi ZWD1480W absolutely DEAD. #295242

    Re: Zanussi ZWD1480W absolutely DEAD.

Slight setback to open circuit pump theory. Went to exact same model with totally different fault today and after effecting a temporary repair by disconnecting dryer element, I unplugged the drain pump to see what effect it had. Sadly, display remained as bright and cheerful as ever. 😥 . Whilst this is not 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} proof against, it does call the theory into question. I’m seriously thinking about selector switch now but it seems to be obsolete 😯 . Any more ideas, anyone?

I fixed a Toshiba semi-professional steam ironing press a couple of times for a regular customer. You need at least three hands and infinite patience. Time I’d finished I was ready to throw it at the wall! I wouldn’t ever bother again!
