Could be a duff element. Could test this by trying something in, doesn’t have to be correct expensive part for a test.

That’s a pretty tough one. I take it you’ve tried an enquiry to B&Q? :rolls: .
I’ve often managed to fix broken doors/hinges/handles by drilling holes through plastic and using cable ties/wire/epoxy putty or whatever seems appropriate just to hold things together temporarily while a part is on order. Seen a few machines round here where customers installed their own lock in the form of a sliding bolt riveted or screwed to the cabinet. Ugly but effective if done well.

I have a strong suspicion it may be 31×8359 which is 5031687833907 on Connect. (£10.78 to me).

Seme lists BE5124532111 for NL710 but nothing for NL711.
Most other parts are same for both models tho’.

ParticipantRe: Hoover CNA 145 Washer
The start /pause board is one of only two items which come up when you type that model into connect’s search box. It’s o.o.s. but only £7.61+.
Could be worth a try.

ParticipantRe: Beko WMA 520s w/m blowing fuses
When you say the capacitor is ok, do you mean the radio interference filter? If so, what have you done to test it? The Beko’s I have seen all used a similar one to that used in Hoover Performa etc. They have a tendency to blow trips, sometimes intermittently. It is passing more current the moment the door locks. If you don’t have a spare to try in, you could just take it out of circuit temporarily.

ParticipantRe: ELECTROLUX EW1200i
It might be worth giving EMW a call about this. One of their listed common faults for this module is, “rotates timer cotinuously”. If it can do that, then it can affect timing.

ParticipantRe: hotpoint ctd000 heat fault ??
Had a timer give a no heat fault on a similar machine. Contacts inside timer were burnt. There was no visible sign on the exterior of the timer.

ParticipantRe: UKW search facility.
Thanks Chris. If it works in Google can’t it be made to work here?

ParticipantRe: candy dishwasher a8001
I would be inclined to think that you must have taken the wrong option and it’s worth re-setting(?) and trying it the other way. If it thinks it’s going to be fed with hot water then it’s probably not going to turn on its heater.

ParticipantRe: Indesit 10 yr old wm blows trip at end of cycle.
Went there this afternoon.
Dave, you were absolutely spot on. Dryer element was down to earth. Pity I didn’t see your post till I got back.
They never use the dryer so I just disconnected it. (The problem had started “when our daughter came round and used the dryer”)
So thanks guys (except for Martin of course 😀 – as if I’d forget my megger! )
